Here we go again!

Another exciting announcement about Steemit

  • Yesterday, huge progress was announced toward Communities for Steemit
    • Today I run across a company that is already way down the SMT (Smart Media Token) path.
      Their token is called XAP.
      • It looks like it will have normal #tags and community type topics.
APPICS IS ON THE WAY. THE NEXT AWESOME SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM ON THE STEEM BLOCK CHAIN.

Just another Steemit.com?

  • Payouts are still after 7 days
    • However, a donate button will always be available.
      • So, people can show their support for your post even after 7 days.
  • Author payout is only 65%,
    +with a 10% "tax" going to the platform.
    • Curation rewards are still 25%.
  • Payouts can either be 100% liquid (like Steem Power)
    • or 50/50 liquid and XAP tokens

Integrated shopping

Once you have reached verification status (not exactly sure what that is)

  • you can enable the "shop function” .
    • Use the internal shop or tie your external shop

This is kind of like communities, except they are maintained (admin and moderating) by appics employees.

Random thoughts about appics

  • They used YouTube for their video.
  • Why am I just now hearing about it?
    They've raised over $1 million and are 1/2 way through Phase A of the ICO...
  • Total transparency is still not there.
    • The people involved are not listed.
      At least, I didn't find them...
      • We do not know if it is the top echelon of Steemit (probably) or other investors.
  • I still don't totally understand SMT's, guess I need to read the whitepaper.
  • It's worth keeping an eye on,
    but I will probably stick with Steemit.com for now...
