Hi Steemians, i am finally here... well almost. I am yet to post something here and i'm petrified. I am from Nigeria, a writer and an amateur poet. Finding Steemit is like finding purified air after surviving on foul air for ages.
A friend of my little brother, Sam, told me about the platform. He had been trying to reach me for months, while i worked my bum off, writing story series for a blog that treated me like i was an orphan. I had quit the job after the debts piled up and the paltry salary trickled to a stop. I love to write, so it hurt to come back home with my head down, trying to explain to my parents why i had been unable to turn what i would gladly do for free into a career.
Myself and Sam chatted on telegram and he shared his knowledge of Steemit with me and i fell in love with the idea instantly.I have always been interested in cryptocurrencies but i find difficulty in understanding the process involved in using it as a currency. What makes it even worse is the fact that over here in Nigeria, those who know the in and out of making cryptocurrencies work demand fearsome fees to teach one this knowledge. Steemit has broken that barrier for me, as i intend to leverage on this opportunity to learn everything i can on steem dollar and the likes.
First and foremost though, i am writer and i will be offering the best of my gifts to make this community a beautiful place to be. I applied two days ago and my account was approved today. Its 4:56 am over here; that's pretty early but i am too excited to sleep. Writing, cryptocurrency and new friends? Oh Yes sirree!
