I have learned to refer to steembottracker before sending a transfer to upvote a post
steembottracker has been a huge learning curve for me. It's an amazing part of steemit and I have been studying and working with this system and have been trying very hard to not spoil it for everyone, I don't want to be that guy
Don't be the guy who sends a transfer to a bid bot to upvote your post without checking the suggested bid at the time of your tranfer on steembottracker even if you choose to not place your bid on steembottracker and choose to tranfer with a url memo
If you have never seen the steembottracker page and are not timing your votes than you bid into a current "auction" very near closing and everyone loses, including YOU.
If you are transferring money than you are probably not aware, or don't care about the time block
So this is also a good idea if you like to see your upvote right away, otherwise you might find yourself waiting up to 3 hours. Don't panic, your time will come and nobody will automatically lose due to you not checking steembottracker , including you. Paying close attention to the "Max Suggested Bid" amount is highly advisable, It doesn't automatically ruin the reward as a whole if you ignore it and bid over the suggestion high bid, especially when it already says ZERO, but the chances of everyone getting a negative ROI and increase drastically.

yes, there are small votes that can be done with a transfer directly to the bots shown on steembottracker.com and it shows the minimum bid and if they take steem or sbd, and sometimes both.
study it and figure out what's happening with it and how it all works.

Thank you. Minnowbooster is great for small votes and if you over bid it doesn't make anyone lose money, you just receive you bid back, there is a graph on minnowbooster.net but still bids get returned sometimes
