[Response to @fairytalelife] "For the love of God, clean up steemit chat"
When I first read your post it really made me upset and I kind of went berzerko all over Steemit and Steemit.Chat. I have managed to undo most of the damage from my reaction, thankfully!
After I calmed down I realized that you think Steemit.com and Steemit.Chat are your "FAIRY TALE LIFE" well guess fucking what THEY AREN'T. You are living with your head in the clouds or some other realm and this AIN'T STORYBROOK, OZ or any other FAIRY TALE location you may wished it was. This is REAL LIFE Internet Edition and it is messy, confusing and sometimes ugly.....but that is also what makes it so great.
There is darkness everywhere in this world, especially on the internet and Chat Rooms have always (ALWAYS) been a haven for such tom-foolery! I know that isn't what you want to hear and guess what, it is time to "SUCK IT UP CUPCAKE" as I am learning right now.
The internet offers something that no real life doesn't. In fact it offers a whole lot of things that real life doesn't. For example it offers people the chance to truly be themselves, to express their deepest and darkest parts and it has always been that way and it will be that way long after you (and I) are no longer in this world. You can not stop it anymore than I can stop you from complaining about it.
There is something you can do about it though, as @fuzzyvest so eloquently put it:
Darling you just need to make your own steemit.chat using rocket.chat software and then you can have your own group that says what you want them to say and adheres to the code of conduct you may wish to see.
The cool thing about blockchain tech merged with a blockchain is that it cannot be censored. So there is little way you can control the behavior of an evergrowing userbase. It would be like telling trolls to stop trolling.
Though I appreciate the intent of your post, I believe it is a moot point and that you are better off pushing forward with your vision and competing with others instead of warning them or telling them not to act in such ways. I suggest rather than listening to the "trash" (which is probably pretty true), just make your own group that makes you happy and upvote eachother's content. That easy....
That is the beauty of the Internet, if you don't like what you are seeing YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT IT. You can go somewhere else, find another dark recess of the Web to crawl into. Or you can make your own dark hole and try and shine some light in it so it looks like you think it should. But what you can not do, what will never be tolerated, is to tell anyone else on the internet what they should say, how they should act or what they can do!
Okay maybe you can tell them, but they ain't gonna do it. It is as simple as that. There are billions of voices on the internet and they all have their own thoughts, ideas and desires for how things should be. You will never change their minds, their thoughts or their ideas. The best you can hope for is to find (or make) a place where the majority of them share your ideas and desires. Even when you do find/make such a place it will eventually grow past a point of containment and contradictory ideas and desires will seep in......just like Steemit isn't your FAIRY TALE idea.....at least not anymore.....it has grown too large to contain to a singular thought or set of desires and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it.
One of my dear friends (on Steemit) is Mr. Wang, he did an amazing piece "It Could Be Worst.. Anti-Rant about Everything Steemit" which I encourage you to read, with an open mind. He has an uncanny way of turning shit into laughter while simultaneously drawing attention to important issues. I wished I had his gift in that department!
I would also like to call your attention to my response on your post:
Okay let me point out a few facts:1.) Steemit.Chat is not now nor has it ever been a part of Steemit.com or the Steem Blockchain,
2.) The entire premise behind Steemit.com is that it is Uncensored, Haven for Free Speech and to some extent that is also the case in Steemit.Chat
3.) The General Chat room isn't intended for getting answers to questions or for getting help, there are channels dedicated to that purpose,
4.) There are features in place on Steemit.Chat to mitigate what you see or don't see. It is very easy to MUTE anyway any time. All you have to do is in any room type: /mute @username_of_person_you_want_muted,
5.) I am not a hypocrite so I will say it I am one of the offenders she is talking about but to the only time (that I know of) I have had any interaction with her is when she flagged one of my posts as for being a "repost" and it wasn't....well not entirely. I was requested to combine numerous posts into one and I did and then added more information to it. I tried to explain that to her and she wouldn't listen so I got a little carried away.
*** Now having said all that let me say this, I am not perfect and neither is anyone else on this platform and especially in Steemit.Chat and yes things do get out of hand at times but as a general rule if some asks (note: i said ASKS) the room to tone it down, they do without fail. If you complain, bitch or tell them to tone it down you will stir the pot so to speak. I am not saying it is right, but every chat room, irc channel or similar I have ever been on has been the same way. It is as much a part of the internet as websites and porn. ***Because of your post, that this is a response to, a user @steemrolled starting posting a piece of art done for me by @klye all over Steemit.com. He posted it to every one of my recent posts and posted it numerous times on your post. Now I am not blaming you for his actions, but as a result of his actions it quite literally sent me over the edge and into a fullblown "FUCK STEEMIT" tirade. As I said earlier I have managed to repair most of the damage I caused from all of this and I sincerely hope that you GROW THE HELL UP and quite living a FAIRY TALE LIFE cause you in the REAL WORLD now and it sucks, at times!

Well... The thing I will disagree with. Is you talk about what the Internet is, what's always been part of it. Internet and blockchain aren't the same thing. This platform is not the same thing. I would have totally ignored her post, except for this one thing. They don't act like that in their posts. Elitist sexist porn you say is always pars of the Internet.... Yep...
So where is it in the posts?
It's a room with a lot of people who are either showing us who they really are there.....
Or they're being who they really are here and falling back into old Internet habits there.
With that as the options. I don't want to mute anyone to silence them... because I like to think that the person with the funny/witty/compelling/etc post isn't the same person shooting off in the chat rooms. Saying they're not connected, that's not true. It was credited for users of the platform.... By members of the platform.... For the platform. So your just saying that because it isn't here, the place courtesy really counts ($$$) it's okay?
Venuspc.... This is not about you at all. I think you are being you all the time and consistently. So I can totally respect you saying your piece here as genuinely who you are.
Last point. How many voters with weight want to hang out in the chat room you are saying people want to have? Why wouldn't you create a NSFW room for that.... And a more general chat.... And a room where people just make a post, once an hour.... And that's about it.
Edit: when I say Internet and block chain aren't same thing.... I know they exist together. And it can't really exist without Internet.... It's not Internet.
Actually I have created a room for NSFW and so has @warhammer but it still winds up in #general. And yes I try to be the same person regardless of where I am or where i am posting.
Also I never said the two weren't connected just they weren't the same.

What bothers me about this post is that you address @fairytalelife like she's 15. She's a full grown adult/mother and not a kid.
you can express discontent without being rude like that.
You have the right to offend your government without repercussion but not people on the street, or, for the matter, on the internet. of course, you can as you please, but i think it lacks class to attack her like that.

You do realize that her entire freaking post was about me....or at least that is what people thought and now I am getting slandered and downvoted by numerous people because of her post.....so it is personal!
Furthermore, I didn't actually say ANYTHING BAD about her, not one thing. Yea I was a smart ass and yea I made fun of her, but if you read the post again you will see everywhere I did it was in a joking manner.
Lastly, FREE SPEECH quite literally means the ability to say whatever you want. If you (or anyone else) gets offended by it you also have FREE SPEECH to tell me, as you have done.

I cannot believe how much that persom raised saying that in chat people are only saying bad words etc...people are different as the life teach us... someone will have a character that will irritate someone else...in that case as u said... use the mute setting and U will never see him again! A part that...earn so much money telling "as a girl I don't like this this and this" is crazy! Since she wrote that post the chat is DEAD! A lot of people like you...felt offended by her words and is not spending time on steemit chat... that for me was the best thing @fuzzyvest did for steemit! If you kill the chat you kill the new steemit...

Actually @jeison the Right to Offend someone is at the very core of Freedom of Expression.
If I Offend you with my freedom of expression you also have the right to offend me with yours.....that is how it works.....but you are also correct that Promoting love and peace will lead to a better society.....but

I with you! I consider people who in everything look for the truth (The correct behavior) - The programmed zombies. There is no correct decision correct or not. There is that that we call education - the moral principles. But they sank into oblivion for a long time from them only a dust to blow off. I try to be well-mannered. To be the gentleman. Always when it is possible. And the most important I do not condemn. Except people who create awful things. In total there are 10 precepts and if all adhere to them the world it becomes better. It is not difficult. So not who does not want? It is more pleasant to them to live under laws of states or the cities. So they would be much thinner if all adhered to God's laws. Can someone say no it? But I will answer surely - not who cannot prove the return. I do not communicate in chats. Because it is passable it the Internet. This part the long ago died. I wanted to help yesterday simply and placed a post with hashtag but in another language. The person apprehended it with pain and indignation. Here such I do not understand. People who complain about everything. These are such controllers of society. I wish you will learn to turn a deaf ear of inadequate people. And to greet criticism with a smile and understanding. The Internet is a big car with long-term history. And now when all adequate ask to change the new car. Inadequate will die out? Certainly, they will go after us. Because way not have and certainly they want to survive. The sin is an extreme. It is impossible to be absolutely angry or kind. It is necessary to be always in balance.
I don't go on steemit.chat for one day to finish a story and I miss all this... Timing has never been my thing.
