STEEMIT: LIFE AS A MINNOW

So, today marks my 14th day on steemit and I must admit that it has been a wild ride.

I started out confused and frustrated but now I think I'm beginning to find my footing here.

So far here is what I figured.
Steemit is not a "Get Rich Quick Scheme".

There are two sides to steemit, the social side and the business side.
Its a social network where you get to express yourself, connect with people and earn from your activities.

Then there's the other side of steemit is the business side. Steemit is all about money. Everything is about money, you need money to send memos, you are allowed to buy and sell resteems, upvotes and steem power. I LOVE IT, its straight forward.

Then again, its all about STEEM POWER. Steem power determines who you are which is either a minnow, tuna, dolphin, orca or a whale. The more steem power you accumulate moves you up the ladder from minnow to whale.

To succeed in steemit, you have to understand that steemit is a community with its own unique culture, to succeed you have to talk, act and think like a steemian

For example, when you enter steemit newly, its easy to fall into the whale hunt trap. You start out trying to find whales to notice you and upvote your posts. Some go about this the wrong way instead of the steemit way. There is a way to achieve everything you want on steemit, you just have to overcome those challenges the steemit way.

Ever since I started with steemit, I find that I use less and less of Facebook.

I enjoy steemit because to me its like playing a video game and I love video games. You on a mission to go from a minnow to a whale, you start out with zero dollars and you have to overcome obstacles along the way, IT'S AWESOME.

In conclusion, I have to say that the last few weeks that I've spent here has been very very eventful and I hope for better days ahead
