My idea for the Resteem chrome plugin is to hide Resteems from your feed!

When i use it its cleared up 2/3rds of the page that was taken up by resteems.

So i made an extension and have been wondering if it would be useful to the community?
I would like to know everyone's opinion before moving forward and releasing the project.
We all have pages that look like this and it can be a bit hard to find content you follow.

Questions and Answers:

  • Q: Will you make this project open source if you launch it?

  • A:Yes it will be open source if the community and decide its a needed project.

  • Q:What browser is this for and will firefox and chrome be supported?

  • A:Google Chrome for now with be support only for the time being.

Please leave an upvote if you like the idea of the plugin and would use it.

Leave a comment on your thoughts on the project
Id rather make something useful for the community.
If this isn't it i have plenty of idea's written down.

I really like the underlying idea because some members do get very "resteem happy." That said, my suggestion would be to approach this more as a coded-in feature of the Steemit UI... make everyone's page (including our own) tabbed, so you will default into "All Posts" but also have tabs for "Posts" and "Resteems."

Yeah that also might be one way to go about it, a tab or even a setting that allows you to turn them off or minimize them in some way.

I like the concept. If there was a way to just seperate the tab out or Resteems be solved for sure.

Sometimes I like re-steems - they often introduce me to a poster I would have over-looked. maybe there could be a category of posts called 're-steems' so that you could look at the re-steems on your own time.

Yeah many people have brought this up so people can check that section instead of it filling up their whole feed.

You guys and your coding magic!
Mucho interesanto amigo.
Me also wonders also if there is a way to 1) view one's raw blog feed and 2) view one's raw blog feed without one's resteems.

Technically you can with this plugin which im already using.
Its currently not public yet tho which is why im asking if people would use it.

I would use it yeah, and it's a great idea! I'm a Chrome user but when I was developing the extension for steem.ly I also noticed that Chrome apps will/are accepted in FF as well as Mozilla is changing their extensions engine...

Yeah ff is becoming much more friendly to in page changes.

I resteemed this XD ! Good idea for those not interested in Re-steem feature

This post has been ranked within the top 25 most undervalued posts in the first half of Mar 23. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $4.59 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.

See the full rankings and details in The Daily Tribune: Mar 23 - Part I. You can also read about some of our methodology, data analysis and technical details in our initial post.

Regardless you should open source the project! If you want to add it to the Steem FOSSbot organization collection that would be awesome too. 🙂

Really this should be an option in the editor but projects like this are a great way to show that a feature is needed 😁

Yeah that why i decided to make a post if steem see's this and is like oh yeah maybe we should add that then. No need to launch this project at all but if they don't well then i guess there is a need.

Nothing gets added in any way quickly, but that said I think @sneak and the devs have some new stuff coming out in 1 to 2 months.

I would say release it, create a buzz around the feature if you think it's worth it.

In case you didn't see it, @profitgenerator had an idea of a 3rd party app plugin system for steemit.com, also supported by @gutzofter, which I would love to see. This kind of thing could be done in it, like a mod on the system.

Get in touch if you want to add the source to the open source org I've started. 🙂

Its something ill think about for sure thanks for the offer tho.

You have the best ideas to move Steemit to a new level!

Idk about all that but i will try my best to help move it forward.
