1Ramp - Building 1 Place For All Creative Communities on Steem
Here is everything you need to know about 1Ramp.
1Ramp is on a mission to bring all creative communities on Steem in one place. We believe that creators need a space to grow, collaborate, and inspire. One way of doing it is by letting creators join communities. Open and dedicated communities will keep them from getting lost in the sea of miscellaneous content.
We believe that as Steem will expand to include more and more people, there will be multiple cohorts of tightly-knit communities. At 1Ramp, our goal is to serve for some of those communities.
This blog is to put together everything important about 1Ramp in one place. Learn about the features on 1Ramp, what's upcoming and some useful links at the end of it.
1. 1Ramp Android App Features
1.1. Signup using SteemConnect
SteemConnect is the standard for user authentication on Steem. It is secure, let's you keep multiple accounts, and you don't need to copy your password again and again.
1.2. Join communities of your interest
As of now, 1Ramp has 8 pre-defined communities: Art, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Literature, Photography, and Travel. Signup on the communities of your interest and start sharing your work.
1.3. Write blogs without markdown
On 1Ramp, you don't need to write markdown for styling. The editor comes with text formatting options such as various headings, italics, bold, line break, quote, image upload etc. making it work seamlessly in a small screen device. Blogging on mobile phones is not common and we think that friendly editors can change that.
1.4. Share photos
Other than blogging, you can create 'Short Posts' on 1Ramp. For sharing image-only posts and micro-content we gave this 'Short Post' option. Sharing pictures from your gallery or directly from your phone's camera is fun, but it has to be quick. You can now publish your photographs in a single step, even the hashtags can be written in the body itself.
1.5. Notifications
Receive push notifications on your phone for all the updates. Notifications help you save time, with push notifications you can decide from the status bar itself whether you need to open the app or not. We want you to spend meaningful time on the app, take inspiration, post content and engage with the community.
1.6. Ratings on posts
Creators need more than a 'like' or a binary reaction on the work they share. We thought that an option to rate a piece of content on a scale of 1 to 5 would be both, useful and interesting for the creators. @Jaff8 has written a comprehensive review of 1Ramp's rating and community feature, you may read that here.
A 1-star rating is equal to an upvote with 20% Steem Power and 5-star rating is equal to an upvote with 100% Steem Power.
1.7. Complete Steem Wallet
We are happy to say that you can do everything that Steem wallet has to offer using 1Ramp. On 1Ramp, you can see your transaction history, claim rewards, transfer, power up/down, and delegate.
1.8. Resource Credits
The resource credits update in the Steem was confusing for a lot of users. It's been a month now and most of the users now understand the role of RCs. On 1Ramp, there is a separate page to check your remaining RCs and the number of comment, upvote, and transactions left in your account.
1.9. Sleek interface for browsing
You may simply use 1Ramp's app for browsing and reading blogs. We are working hard to make it friendly for discovering and reading content.
1.10. Feed that inspires you
Your choice of communities will appear at the top in the home page. Find just the right mix of content that matters to you and inspires you.
1.11. Visibility for new users on 1Ramp
The search page is dedicated to the latest posts created using 1Ramp. It gives everyone a single place to find new users.

2. What's Next?
2.1. Live Competition Pools
Competition Pools is an upcoming feature on the 1Ramp app which will allow contest creators to create and manage contests. It'll also make contest discovery and participation easier for the users.

2.2. 1Ramp Web-app
1Ramp's web-app will be out soon. We are just giving it some final touches.
2.3. For iOS and Windows users.
A progressive web app will be available right from the day our web-app comes out. We'll make sure that your experience on iOS and Windows is no less than using a native app.
2.4. 1Ramp exclusive contests
As we roll out the contests feature, there will be a series of '1Ramp Exclusive Contests'. Signup on 1Ramp and be prepared to win exciting prizes!

Wow, a lot has happened on the app since I last got up to date. That's pretty awesome. I particularly liked the clear information about the resource credits. The post itself is mostly well done. It is very well illustrated with screencaps, and paints the whole picture of where 1Ramp is now, and where it's going.
I do have one significant issue: While this post is great for potential users, it is a bit confusing for someone like me, who's used the app, but not for a while. It would have been great if you had detailed what's relatively new. I had to dig through the posts linked in the bottom to make sure the wallet was new since I last used the app, for instance. Seeing the progress that has been made makes it clearer that you've been putting in the work.

We'll launch our web-app within a week. From there onwards, the iOS users can use 1Ramp's Progressive Web App. We'll announce how to install and use PWA a separate blog post. I hope you'll try that out.
On 1Ramp, you'll see a list of eight pre-defined communities while signing up: Art, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Music, Photography, and Travel. You can choose the domains of your interest and your feed will be shown accordingly. As of now, users cannot create communities. Our view of community is a space on Steem where one can find people and content of their interest. The key goal, for now, is helping everyone discover useful content, engage with new people, and get visibility.

Ok that is kewl... I know there are several different communities with communities! You might even look at a newbie community to place people in to sort of figure out where they belong. :)
