Check it Out! We Now Have Notifications!! YAY!!!
Some of you might have noticed some little numbers in a red box start showing up on your blog (and others.) It looks like the update just happened to include Notifications which I'm STOKED to see!!
Little red squares will show the number of new items in each area whether on your blog, wallet, replies, etc. This means no more clicking around to find the new activity or having to rely on other sites like www.steemstats.com or @good-karma's iOS/Android eSteem app (which is awesome btw!) Since I'm usually on my desktop, this will save me so much time!
This is one of the bigger pieces of development that's been needed and I'm THRILLED to see it go live!!
Yep, this is cool feature! And we have avatars in Golos now. Steemit.com should integrate them too.
Oh nice!! That's awesome! I've not gotten back over to Golos recently so didn't see that. Love to see them implemented here!
Great, would be nice with following notifications too, so that you don't have to go through your whole list of followers to follow back.
Very true...that'd definitely be handy to see onsite as well. Up to now I've used steemdb.com for follower info...here's your's on there if you didn't already have it:

No problem! :D I was so happy when I found that site for followers...it got too tough looking through followers manually to see who was new. After a while it was just too much.
Can take it of? I don't like the one for the feed. and we still don't have mention notifications apparently.
I don't see a way of shutting them off on the site itself right now unfortunately. But I do believe other 'offsite' options like eSteem offer a more fine grained notification setting. Not positive on that right now though.

Hehe, def not oblivious. You'll see periodic updates just sort of show up like this. Like waking to a nice surprising gift for me. Lol
It's really sort of important. The first thing I did was look for notification settings, because you need to know when someone replies to your post, so you can thank them for commenting . I got the steemification extension to do that, but sometimes I am not looking at my screen.
Yea, up to now I've mainly seen notification through offsite solutions like the eSteem mobile app and know there were a couple other options but forget off the top of my head. This will be a great addition on the Steemit site itself. Love seeing the new stuff for replies and my feed in particular.

I hit the F5 and noticed the changes immediately!
Looks like they are implementing some of the things from the test site! I can't wait until they launch a profile page. :)
It def was a nice surprise today! I hear ya, I'm really looking forward to the profile page and the new editor to do live!
