When I use reddit, I don't use the default homepage because the hive-mind isn't always right in deciding what should float to the top. The key to getting the most from Steemit is find people worth following through discord, and through the people you follow, you network to other like-minded people.

In order to get a good experience here, you have to be picky in who you choose to follow. Its not the platform. I have a decent experience here, and the bots haven't ever effected it negatively, but I don't use trending because its equal to the Reddit homepage.

It's very good advice. I never use trending, it's a point on the algorithm. I have showed prospective users steemit and they look at the trending and change their mind about doing it. I am experimenting with different front ends, I heard writer's block is making one that goes on content and not based on the payout size.

I share the exact same sentiments expressed here. There's no point in posting (without using upvote services) until there is account-based voting or someother fix. Until then why waste your intellectual property on minimum exposure & no profit. I would rather grow my audience on other platforms then spend days trying to earn STEEM. I love the STEEM blockchain itself, being 3rd overall for network activity, but it's apparent this place has become a scrapyard for bots & abandonned accounts. I'll be sussing Scourum thanks to your info.

Awesome to hear. The only way we can make a difference on here is if we help a platform that well isn't on here.

Our mission is to jump-start the sports media evolution and enable Scorum community members to be fairly rewarded for sharing their passion for sports.

It sounds like they are aiming for their niche of the market which is good times for the ecosystem as a whole.

Brilliant trending page for sports enthusiasts, my question is... why would Scorum give more of a fuck than Steemit INC does about content that is even more 'irrelevant' to their mission?

They may not but only one way to find out. The developers, team members and users I have talked to have been really easy to talk to and level headed. They may be open to quality content that's not their target. Hey if they catch a red fish while chasing a blue fish I am sure they'll be happy.

Does the fact that it is only for sports limit the market ? I think so. But the project looks great going to sign up !

If the team sees how big it can be I see no reason why they wouldn't expand. Awesome! Let me know your username on there.

The algorithm is BROKEN and weird like @jerrybanfield 's back after a night alone.

I love you @swolesome.

I wish I liked sports.

Love ya too ES, would love to see your curation skills there. And happy belated Steem birthday!

Interesting. I have joined scorum under the username rondras and have published my first post. Let's see. One question I have - is there any way to buy their tokens? I cannot find a market for it at the moment.

Openledger is the only market that is available for now. The community manager I spoke to said they are focused on getting the updates and betting interface up first before paying to go on exchanges. But they are actively looking for vote based contests.

I am looking for your posts now on there, hope you like it.

I have to admit that I haven't used open ledger so far. But I will tried it out as it is always a bit more fun if you own a stake - at least a small one.

It is almost a year for me on steemit and I have grown to accept the trending page flaws and self upvotes. I still have hope that things will change and that is why I won't be leaving. Can not wait for SMT and steemmonster to start. The platform still has a bright future and if things get fixed like no more reward pool rape and trending page then steem to the moon. Thanks.

It is a matter of realizing that Steem's blockchain is the first mover. If they do not fix their warts others will eat into their market share. This could be one.

An interesting article

they live with advertiser money, not a revolutionary idea.

I find it weird that it's a sporting platform but yet is setup to be a similar platform as Steemit. I can see non sports people taking over the platform in short order.

It is quite possible and there is even an esports section. It is sort of evolving into video games/gaming. So I see what you're saying.

I plan on doing sports stuff over there and normal blogging here. I've accepted that blogging is just a hobby that I make a tiny bit of money from.

Nice! There are even fantasy leagues over there to earn crypto.

I'm interested by the whole sports betting side of things. I could see myself getting into that using crypto earn from blogging.

That would be clever, and like I said, they have a very unique fantasy sports option over there so you can win more crypto for showcasing your sports smarts. It isn't just play to play you can play fantasy to win crypto!

yeah, it's interesting to see how well some are doing using the #teamgood tag, I actually have followed some making more, not everyone is going to have the money or want to bot their stuff to the traditional trending which is why I created an umbrella/infohub to 'help the helpers' and a bit of a safe zone, cheers my friend :)

Thanks Axey :) Sending good vibesss your way.
