This will be a brief post but a technically weighty one.
Just this simple tweak to steemit and it will become instant haven for steemit users!
I call this a tiny tweak even though I don't know much about the nitty-gritty of making simple tweaks to the software that runs steemit but as it is said, that their are many developers giving their all to steemit then this tweak is accomplishable at the snap of a finger as the basis or foundation for this suggestion already exists.
Let's recall that on steemit, an account with 10k posts for instance, as seen in the post-counter includes 'replies and comments' as well as entire blog posts. Now when you read a reply for instance, it stands alone and you have the choice to view the entire host post. Well, bottom-line is, 'a reply or comment stands alone'.
Now notice that a major part of most posts that we love to go through is the comment section.
This section is so underlooked but on YouTube, Facebook, etc for instance, I am keen on reading comments and can read it endlessly. It is fun, hilarious and overall, it holds human interaction and it's interesting to see humans and their various thoughts go back and forth.
Deep down within a social network even where there exist a model to maintain privacy, users still want to feel that feeling, that the other person on the end, behind that username; is human.
For instance:
"I temporarily joined bitlander in the past and lasted on there for like 2 days! No doubt, it is kinda of interesting on there but all felt were avatars in place of real human interaction thus, I couldn't stay. Humans in general are inclined towards other humans!
To summarize. Recently, I found myself seeing the need for some bookmarking capability and hence, i asked @sykochihca in chat of a way to accomplish this, as for a newbie, let me say something:
" The info on steemit is so new, so interesting that you can't circumvent them, but the thing is they are endless, you can't keep up". Bookmarking will be amazing.
@sykochia said it is possible on the steemit app (called esteem on IOS) and she hopes the feature comes to desktop soon. Now, when she spoke of bookmarking and its possibility of enhancing the entire steemit, i am sure what she had in mind was the functionality that allows for bookmarking entire posts, which is awesome but really how about comments; a major part of posts?
HAHA, some way of bookmarking comments will be awesomer, i tell you!

Seriously, LATELY, I found myself starting the above hashtag, to keep a library of my most amazing comments. Sometimes, comments on steemit turn into a chat; two humans discussing! It goes back and forth and the answers to questions are rawer and may be not too crypto-type, which works for us newbies who haven't yet come to fully understanding even the basic terminologies here on steemit. We do get so so so overwhelmed!
Deep down, I will like to have a complete home here on steemit,! Well, that is how I see steemit.
"A library or room of mine where, I can go to see the amazing things I have kept in there".
Thus, like I was saying earlier, I choose a few hashtags which I virtually want to call ours, me and others who love comments or who prefer short raw answers and explanation to things; MOST OF WHICH are more FINDABLE in comments.
To foot my small cause, I started to leave like #savethecomments for instance, with my replies in the comment section to an awesome post and especially one with amazing comments to sort of bookmark it or hashtag it with ofcourse a hashtag i have created, so that finding it is really easy!
I had the notion that, since comments on steemit normally form part of our total number of posts here on steemit, I could find them when I want and everyone who wants to see them, can easily click on the hashtags and be led there but in my recent interaction with @mindhunter in the comment section of one of my posts, I noticed that it didn't exactly work that way.
On one of my recent posts, i had fun GIFs of @ned having some dancing fun, dressed in a Mexican attire and @mindhunter commented saying that he hoped #steemfest2 should take place in Mexico. Now, I feel this is a worthy movement and like we are trying to build upon, it started playfully in the comment section of my post.
Now, if indeed it ends up happening, it will amaze you to know, that this weighty suggestion would have gone so missing with my post. Okay, I don't have followership or that much reputation, for my post to get seen that much. So the idea for hashtag (steemfest2) in Mexico which may have been loved by the entire steemit community, could easily stay lost with my post. Only the few, who get to see my post and read the comment section will see hashtag steemfest2 and alas, this sentiment on its own constitutes an entire post that would have been a trend on the entire steemit community.
So here, I had thought I must already, have saved, some comments my hashtags (savingthecomments) and hashtag (bestpostsarecomments) but then, I found out it, didn't exactly work that way.
This is how I found out:
I clicked on hashtag(steemfest2) as seen in @mindpower's comment on my post and ofcourse, it already held its clickable link, thus, upon clicking, it loaded onto a new page but upon getting to the page, it is empty, no posts found!
So the theory that posts in our post counter includes comments and replies aren't in effect fully yet as this comments should have stood alone and already formed a visible post in hashtag (steemfest2).
Bring this feature to steemit; this simple tweak, and it will instantly fix a lot!
Yes agreed, there will be too many hashtags but overall on steemit, there are already too many hashtags and these are bound to grow! All remains same; 'Too many hashtags but only a few appearing on the homepage, so that people can easily use the search, to go to their desired hashtags.
My movement and I am hoping we come together to talk on this, is to let a 'hashtag mentioned in comments', be able to already form a post in the designated hashtag, so that one can be able to as much as bookmark a comment and easily go back to it.
(NB: a hashtag used in a comment already forms a clickable link or category, thus there is no reason why it should be empty as people click on the hashtag to get somewhere only to get there and find out it is empty and nowhere afterall)
Moreover, amazing comments that deserve visibility for its weight and value, don't need get lost forever because the hosting post for instance, didn't have much traction.
I mean, if it had been @ned or @dantheman or @dan commenting a jackpot idea in a comment as comments are usually like to and fro impromptu conversation, a comment that may have benefited the entire steemit community stands a chance of getting lost because my account for instance hasn't garnered much visibility!
This can easily be fixed as the foundation is already there. Like was earlier mentioned; (a hashtag used in a comment already forms a clickable link or category, thus, there is no reason why it should be empty as people click on the hashtag to get somewhere, only to get there and find out, it is empty and nowhere afterall)

Comments are so much fun! You know: "one post contains one mind but the comment section, a bunch of minds!"
Today is the creation of hashtag thebestpostsarecomments and savethecomments.
Please spread this let it be heard. This will bring so much more life and fun to steemit and will make it more of a home that we can design to our taste even though we are not developers and with the viable power of hashtags.
Let a hashtag on steemit be able to lead to full posts and comments alike and steemit will instantly garner more activity, interaction and engagement. It will bring more general relaxation, allay anxiety for the newbies and make the atmosphere filled more with creativity even for the non-techy!
NB: some posts are questions or cries for help. steemit can turn into a complete home for users, a 'legacy library'!
The info on steemit is too much and storms in daily, which is an awesome thing but this is also overwhelming thus much information stay lost, being able to bookmark comments sorta, will instantly abate the overwhelming effect. A way to slow things down even if only virtually for a user and most a newbie will instantly bring many relief and enhance the whole steemit experience.
Overall, if you only knew how many steemians see steemit beyond the earning and like a home; a library or for some like me, a sand box to watch my dreams in virtuality or an equal playing field that enables me leave the tiny room i am in, alone, in a 3rd world country to have a face amongst others; a haven; a vault! Yes, some people see steemit as a form of patent or copyright centre, where they can safely dent their ideas before witnesses with evidence uneraseable!

Yep at @lemouth I was so exhausted when I was writing that, my formatting wasn't good but I didn't want to end the day without posting it cos I have this serious insomnia and for 5 months I hvnt had real sleep. I was doing 2 posts and was up all night. I hv in mind to edit later tho. But I left something in the comment you will understand it better. The summary is this: comments are so important and I have seen you highlight that several times. Too, I have seen you highlight how sometimes you struggle to catch up as steemit has constant info and some of the terms are hard to grasp. Now though, you will notice that the comment section, may have a wealth of information and many times things are explained in more layman terms as the comments afford to and fro conversation and who knows some may have posed the exact question on your mind and different people with different methods of explaining have tried to that. All these amazing things happen in the comment section but many times, the comment section dies with the post just cos the post didn't get enough visibility and this wealth of information stays hidden almost forever as after a period other posts appear and our post get buried. Now too, sometimes even a post that is short or not elaborate can have like 50 comments underneath it that are valuable info. Why do these comments have to go to waste. So the aim is to #savethecomments! Imagine you can brand your comments or replies with a hashtag for instance and you are fond of making comments and now let us assume that each of your comment forms a post in the hashtag you use, with time it will form its own category so that people can see it. Now look at this, I spoke a bit with @mindhunter in the comment section on one of my post and playfully he mentioned #steemfest2 as his hopes it takes place in Mexico. Now if was a visitor and saw this hashtag and I feel I may want to know more about steemfest2, thus I clicked on the clickable hashtag I see, now it definitely loads up and you get on a new page categorized steemfest2 but it is all empty. I am saying that it will be helpful if that functionality is created or at the very least, a way to promote comments so that they aren't lost with a post that didn't make much visibility cos in that way, the wealth of valuable information in comments is lost forever

I agree, sometimes the comments are more fun than the funnest of funniest posts. I also love reading good debates with differing opinions in a respectful manner. I don't know that I personally need to bookmark comments. For me it's like instant gratification and with so much content to search through and read for responsible curation, I don't know that I have the time to revisit someone else's comments. It's hard enough keeping up with responses to my own!

I def. think you are onto something, and when you engage some of the more IT / techy people like you have, it really might lead to something good getting done.
