TRYING TO CLUB A WHALE
Lately I've been fiendishly hungry for more STEEM POWER. I have been pacing back and forth, grunting about STEEM and mumbling about STEEM DOLLARS and occasionally jumping up and downing. Jumping up and down in a caveman like way, with some chest pounding and the occasional shout 'STEEM POWER, STEEM POWER, need more STEEM POWER." And with that, this caveman plots on how to Club a Whale.
WHO ARE THE WHALES?
Whales is the nickname given to a small group of user here on STEEMIT.COM. They are called "whales" because they have a large amount of STEEM POWER. So whenever a "whale" up votes , it can mean a payout of at least $20 up to $500 or even more. Some of the more well known "whales" are of course @dan @ned @dantheman and @berniesanders . Check out @blueorgy 's Catch a Whale website. Here you will find a great deal of information on the whales such as a list of who the whales are and it even tells you when the whales are active for timing your blog postings.
And No, Don't Use a Club!
Lately I have been seeing recent posts that are attempting to draw the whales' attention. This is not a password you are trying to crack; brute force will not work. These whales are human beings, so appeal to those human sensibilities. Yet refrain from the sniveling, complaining or groveling attack also. I have seen a rise in those lately too. Some are complaining that certain posts with no merit receive hundreds of dollars while their posts receive none. Forget about what you have no direct control over. You just Keep posting and interacting with the STEEMIT Community. I think, no strike that, I know that if you "keep it real" here with people that alone will help you get rewarded.
Feed The Whales
In the real world, the "nice" whales feed on krill. Here on STEEMIT, think of your postings, articles or other creative content as the "krill" for these STEEMIT Whales. Your content should vary from family, art, life, tech all the way through funny.
