What is going on Steemit Community!

Today I am going to talk about privacy problems with Bitcoin and Steemit. I am filming this video in the Belly of the Beast, Area 51. You may remember my first post from Area 51.

Its no secret that Bitcoin is not anonymous and Steemit is the worst when it comes to anonymity. Bitcoin is pseudo anonymous and anyone can look up how much Steem you have just by clicking on your Wallet icon.

I'd say that most users of crypto currencies love the ideas behind crypto: free market approved currency; no fractional reserve banking; the interest rate is set by the market; fixed cap of money and staying anonymous with your transactions. I agree with all of that.

My biggest worry with using crypto currencies is not the government, but it is the people I know, watching me. I'm kind of creeped out by having other people watch where I spend my money. Since they can see it is being spent, they can also see how much money I have at a given point in time and how much I make. I wrote a post about how the financial situation of people affects how they behave. Just imagine other people knowing how much money you have at any point in time. They will be begging you for some money and telling you how you are greedy if you do not help them out.

In my example I used myself and my brother as the subjects. I said I was not in the best of shape and my brother is constantly giving me a hard time about it. For lunch I want to eat whatever I want. So, I go ahead and buy some tacos. My brother can look up where I spent my Bitcoin or Steem and tell that I ate Tacos lunch. He can then proceed to talk loads of shit to me about it. A situation like this can apply to anything.

In conclusion, it is great that it is more difficult for the government to keep track of us when we use crypto. But, for most people the problem is being watched by your family and friends. In the video I am constantly being swarmed by Area 51 security guards watching my every move. In reality the government does not watch our every move, but the people closest to us do.

Steve McClair did it again! Those guys at Area 51 would like nothing more than to slam you to the desert floor and make an example out of you. They have been waiting their whole life to impose their authority on someone at the facility that supposedly doesn't exist.
