It is not a scam. It is how the "Promoted" tab works. You can read about it here.
The SBD that gets transferred to the "null" account will get destroyed by the blockchain. It is publicly verifiable.

People who understand how block-chains work. There are a lot of smart people out there who know how to do this. If the money was going somewhere instead of being burned, there would be hundreds of people who would notice and post all over the internet about it.

LOL! , Null is the account for promoting. All sd that is sent to @null is burned. no one ever gets to use those sd ever again.

people post topic articles . However people can pay extra for priority advertising, this is optional. This steem dollars is sent to the NULL account (that is the name) over time that promote money is simply destroyed and that is proven by watching this money lost on the public blockchain transfer record...

Look ; please consider this , I am a human somewhere on planet earth. I am assuming you are also on planet earth, yet I do not know you. Nor do I expect you to ever give out private information. . . Steemit has Bots, or artifical robots that interact here to make money for their human masters.
Even if Steemit is no legal or is a scam how would you be involved in that ? have you given them your address or bank account or credit card? are you recruiting more people onto Steemit to enlarge their organisation or what.
I myself have taken 5 Steem and turned it into BTC (bitcoin) on a completely separate website. I can now take that BTC and turn it into cold hard cash that I can go shopping with. Now why would a scam or whatever actually give me money ? ? ?
Maybe I am wrong but i always thought scams were about taking money in, not giving it out to complete strangers. Just enjoy Steemit and always be wary online ; I assume everyone here is some ten year old kid in another country . . .
Just guard your private information and let Steemit do whatever steemit is doing, but just because you do not understand it does not mean it is wrong or bad. And since no one is asking anything of you how are you affected , is someone going to think you are part of all this personally ?

When you give someone the promise that you pay his posts and you give him nothing in return and you take all the money yourself letting the fools working here for nothing,thats considered a scam

Its only burning SteemDollars. thats what happens to promoted posts. if you use sd to promote a post, then those SD get burned. they did that so no one person can get rich off of the promoted. It's weird , yet makes perfect sense.

Nope not a scam, its right there on the blockchain. you can see the sd in the null account will not move, it just stays there till they burn it.

yes if you look at some of profiles that get the major votes and $$$. and trace their wallets you will see some gifts of over 10,000 worth of steem ect. I think the owners/operators and some investors are moving this currency back and forth to accounts and posts to make it look like its a viable and active currency. I now believe the posts that make 1,000 dollars and up are dummy accounts or investor accounts ect. And all of us mules they pay pennies if we are lucky to help drive the site and build traffic, so what is steem really worth? What ever you make it look like I suppose. its all a illusion :)
