I've never muted anyone, but I tend not to reply to comments with no value. And still , the guys posting the this post rocks types of comments still deserve a second chance.
The are so many souls out there trying to still figure out what Steemit actually is. And in general many of them are less techie and native to contributing to a community. It's a process, it takes time to learn and YES - we are responsible for not replying them. It comes like a message to adapt and change.
Great example of a related comment with value. Some people may feel that giving someone a second chance is good and that's fair. There's too much spam for me and these comments prevent me from reading the thoughtful remarks and upvoting them or responding to them. But each person should mute as they see fit - it is one possible solution to this problem.
