🐳 Stop Imitating Whales. Instead: Clear Your Mind & Find Your Own Voice

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

I firmly believe that absolutely everyone has his or her own voice. It could be sleeping, or it's already awaken. When the voice is awaken it's like a powerful weapon for a positive impact.

There is an issue with people on Steemit struggling to find it and release its power.

That's why I'll make an attempt to express an opinion that was supported by one of the Top 100 Bloggers by Posting Rewards on Steemit, Stephen Kendal .

The question is:

How to find your own voice?

The shortest route for me is called CLEAR MIND. Doing things in a rush could only put new obstacles in your mission. It may lead to dissatisfaction and even desperation.

Examples to support the above statement:
They are literally everywhere around us.

So the key is:

CLEAR MIND

Once your mind is clear you will suddenly discover that it's not only you who exist on Steemit. You'll suddenly start SEEING and LISTENING to what others are sharing.

You'll start listening not to reply, but to understand.

This is they key to actually connect with someone. If you start listening, this will help you become much more adequate with your comments. As a result, people will instantly feel that you are among the ones that have read/viewed/heard or simply understood their message. And this is only one of the results of aclear mind.

Earlier today Stephen Kendal made a massive shout out to everyone who has voted on his posts and putting him in Top 100 Bloggers by Posting Rewards.

What I've shared with him is an opinion that actually anyone of us could reach a top 100 position in this table. It probably won't happen overnight, but indeed: if we learn how to improve the way we transmit our ideas into words, believe me, sooner or later we'll see that we have suddenly begun making bigger steps towards towards our goal.

Without CLEAR MIND we wouldn't know what's actually happening with us. Once we find a way to clear our mind, we'll then be in a much better position to FIND OUR OWN VOICE.

Logically, the next question is:

How to clear your mind?

I believe there aren't so many ways to clear your mind as someone might conclude in a rushy comment under this post. To me simplicity could be one of the ways, but be careful. Being simple shouldn't irritate your wife for example. If it happens, then something is definitely wrong :) It's a huge topic and I might explore it in details in some of the next posts.

How do you try clearing your mind?

Does it help you find your own voice?

NB! I will avoid replying to people who are in rush and type answers like Great post! Thank you! It's a kind of educational campaign I'm performing inspired by @steemquestions and his a must read post: Tired of Spam Comments on SteemIt? Here's How To Solve

Agreed. Henry Thoreau, in Walden, says the wise individual does nothing in desperation. That means, among other things, no rush.

Again, I agree, people must understand that they are not the only ones on Steemit (which everyone understands on Youtube). Furthermore, I think, however, they must actually understand that it would be good for them, too, if many, many more people who are not yet on the platform joined up. (Yes, and that means more people share the same rewards pool.)

Systems are not scale invariant. If we can get more serious participants, problem solved. More people must be on Steemit. Then organic, self organization will take care of the rest. There will be much better content. Better content will be rewarded.

That phenomenon, plus a small dedicated minority interested in quality can and will, in the end, reduce spam to a great extent. (For example, mathoverflow.)

A small but unbudging minority of a few percent ends up deciding what the majority does, because of asymmetries, costs of nonstandardization, etc.

With more participants, there is a higher probability of such a minority appearing, if we assume random preferences widely distributed.

I'm one of the people who refuses to use vote buying bots. I'm using the platform without investing cash at all as an experiment. Can it be successfully used by people who actually provide solely proof-of-brain, as intended? That is, participate solely by content. If that appears possible, the platform not only has its promised value, but is undervalued. And that's the time to evangelize and invest.

I was just going to bed and my eyes are closing. Would love to reply you by tomorrow. In the meantime, you might be really fascinated reading this one: https://steemit.com/community/@negativer/steemit-community-and-the-power-of-guilt

Hello again. I admire your efforts to develop this way. As for clearing mind and finding your own voice, this might be something that develops in time - at least for me it's definitely a process that develops in a learning curve. Nothing happens instantly.

Great advice!

Thanks to @tibra, this inspiring post was resteemed and highlighted in today's edition of The Daily Sneak.

Thank you for your efforts to create quality content!
