Crypto Empire Game Rules: FAQs and Rules:

in #steemit8 years ago

Hello people,

As you may know, me and @eonwarped combined our efforts in designing the Blockchain's First Gamified Bid Bot - @cryptoempire.

The game has started, and the colonists gave their first steps in the New World.

Some questions were posed, sometimes more than once, and my friend @yabapmatt advised me to create a post on some of the FAQs and Rules of the RPG powering the bots and those extra rewards.

Having that said, this is exactly what I decided to do, so take a look at the post below if you're a player or you want to be...

FAQ: The Colonists!

Every colonist arrived alone and has a clearing to call home.

The colonist is a Hero Character, your avatar in-game, and can take the following actions this week:

  • Hire: Unlocked Workers According to Colonist SP
  • Quest: Go on a Quest
  • Forage: Acquire Food (Unlocked Food)
  • Harvest Wood: Acquire Wood (Unlocked Wood)
  • Mine Stone: Acquire Stone (Unlocked Stone)

As you can see, the colonist unlocked some workers (dependingt on SP), and the basic resources he can harvest.

This is the way the game works... new things get unlocked as you go, and hiring a new worker can unlock a fresh option for you.

Alternatively, getting resources can do so as well, or meeting certain conditions.

With any action, you may unlock something useful, so it pays to explore your options, or to focus on more of the same in order to specialize your colonist or colony.

FAQ: Resources!

So far, there are few resources unlocked.

Here they are:

  • SP: The amount you delegate and if you have it used or not.
  • Food: It feeds your colony and prevents hunger and death.
  • Wood: It allows you to build and unlock stuff made of wood.
  • Stone: It allows you to build and unlock stuff made of stone.

You should also know that you can also use more than 1 resource in a building, tech or action.

Alternatively, you can also harvest wood with a forager, but the income you get is very low compared to if you had a lumberjack or even yourself do it.

There are more resources out there to unlock. Some avoid negative buffs, others apply positive buffs and some unlock new stuff.

Trade is encouraged.

FAQ: Workers!

So far, there are some workers unlocked already. Some may have access to none, some may have access to some, and some have access to all of the currently unlocked workers.

Here are the workers currently unlocked for the player who has unlocked the most (@yabapmatt):

  • Forager: Acquires a small amount of food each week.
  • Farmer: Acquires a medium amount of food each week.
  • Lumberjack: Acquires a small amount of wood each week.
  • Carpenter: Acquires a medium amount of wood each week.
  • Miner: Acquires a medium amount of stone each week.
  • Smelter: ?
  • Architect: ?
  • Legionnaire: 5 Defense (Combat Power)
  • Legate: 25 Defense (Combat Power)

Each of these workers MAY unlock more actions for your turns. Every single one of them is permanent and will remain living in your colony, paying you taxes and consuming the equivalent of its cost in SP per week.

If you have 50 SP and you hire a worker for 50 SP, that SP is used and so the only way to hire another worker is to either delegate more or fire the worker and hire another one.

This doesn't come without a risk though...

FAQ: What Buildings Are Available?

Buildings will be made available when the resources, workers or tech is enough to unlock them... up until that point, you're in the unknown.

FAQ: Worker Orders!

You can order a worker to do everything, even if the job isn't the one you hired him for.

He will do his best, but the results may or may not please you.

On the other hand, if you're off questing, do you want to go alone? Better take an escort.

Plus, economy is important, but military will play its part as well.

A colony is only as strong as its people... and so far you're alone, but with development and movement, as well as resource increments, attention will turn to you.

FAQ: Attacks and Defense!

Your military and even your citizens can attack other players to get some loot or just to harm their progress.

On the other hand, the defenders always have an inherent advantage - now thanks to knowing the terrain and being on the defensive, and later with fortifications, traps and defenses.

On the other hand... sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword.

FAQs: Diplomacy

Diplomacy is kind of a free for all... colonies are decentralized and even if I, the Emperor, don't like the fact that they're trying to claim the world for themselves, I envy their freedom.

Maybe one day one pretender will rise and I'll have to crush him... but in the meanwhile the colonists' presence improves my chances at establishing a good trading hub with the New World.

Perhaps the colonist that emerges as the Behemoth of the New World will see the value in Allying himself with the Empire!?

Well, as far as colonists are concerned, they may trade resources, forge alliances, declare war!

It's up to them... with one thing being the exception - quests have to be taken alone!

In Conclusion:

I'd like everyone who has any questions so far, to pose them directly to me so I can answer them to the best of my ability.

Hope you're liking the game.

Cheers

Bucket of Goodies:

Sort:

so for the sbd we earn from the quests we can trade with users for wood and stuff like that right :)

The SBD are yours, you can do whatever you want with them, I will send them to your wallet.

Right...now I begin to understand what it is. took some time. 2 wave here a come.

:D Glad to have you aboard my friend :)

I have one last question. If I didn't enter the game from the start, can I start playing sometime in the future?
I didn't delegate SP (because I don't have SP jeje) but I would love to delegate some SP in the future, when I have some. So if I do so, can I start playing at that moment? o.o

Of course, new colonists arrive every week.

Look very interesting! :)
But i think I got too less SP to join yet :)

Grow strong then :D

Hmm, I can see riches to be made... Land to be grabbed...

Wow, this is developing into something pretty awesome. It is reminding me of the board game Settlers of Catan! Do you know it? I used to have hours of fun playing it with my sons and their buddies as teenagers :)

Congratulations again!

I heard of it but never played it... No such thing around here.

Sounds great fun too. We don't have D & D here either.

Too bad, it's a lot of fun as you obviously know, creating and settling your own community.

Where are you?

Beautiful :) I've never been, but it's on my "gotta-go-to" list!

sound like there are different type of worker to hire with 50SP , do we get to choose or it's random assignment ?

You get to choose.

what are the different type of worker ? i suppose there's escort

They are on the bot update page, game launch.

ooohh this explains a lot especially with the resources and the workers.

So we can take someone for a quest.

Someone NOT a player.

Thx this does clarify a great deal. I'm still curious about a couple things but i think it will all be clear eventually as we watched the outcomes from the first round of activities.

If you have any question, feel free to ask.

I just subscribed to you yesterday. I am confused about the game because I have no real background information. I haven't read enough of your previous posts. I am intrigued however to read up on your previous posts to better understand your Crypto Game.

Hello there!

Thank you for the follow! Glad to have you aboard! Check the posts done by @cryptoempire and you'll see what I'm talking about :)
