AnonSteem now supports STEEM payments (STEEM Accounts with no delay or phone number!)

It's been a much requested feature for a while now, and today it was finally added.

You can now pay with STEEM (not SBD) on AnonSteem when creating an account. This obviously reduces your anonymity, but may be more convenient for those who don't have any other cryptocurrencies.

For those not aware, AnonSteem is a service which allows you to make STEEM accounts, without having to enter a phone number or social media accounts.

Originally we only supported BTC and LTC, since obviously those without a STEEM account wouldn't be able to pay with STEEM in the first place.

How do I do it?

Simply go to AnonSteem, and tick the "STEEM" box when entering your username.

You'll be asked to send a certain amount of STEEM to the @anonsteem account, with a MEMO. Just like depositing into an exchange.

Once you've sent the STEEM, your account should be created within 1-2 minutes. Much better than the 3 day wait currently imposed by STEEMIT.COM :)

Expiry Time Increased

Sometimes orders take longer than expected. I've changed the expiry time from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. This should reduce the amount of people with wrongly expired orders.

What about Account Recovery?

One of the most common questions I get is: "What if my account is hacked? Can it be recovered?"

The answer is: YES.

Assuming that you have at least one previous owner key (or password), we can recover your account in the event that it is hacked, or something went wrong changing your password.

If you've completely lost your password, and don't have any record of the owner keys, you're out of luck. The same applies to accounts created by STEEMIT. The recovery function is only to protect you in the event that your account is hacked.

Simply email us, anonsteem [at] someguy123 [dot] com, with information about your account. We'll ask you various questions to try to verify that you're the true owner, cross-examine social media if needed, and verify that you own the address that sent the payment to AnonSteem.

Your service deserve a spot on the home page of Steemit.com.

I just made a payment with LTC and your site timed out. I have screenshots if you need them. Can't contact you on steemit.chat either as its down

Congrats on accepting Steem @someguy123. Is it your goal to add more currency types? I like that you've added Steem payments because now I don't have to fumble with a separate account and instead I can get friends their own account quickly without using a different crypto-wallet.

It depends on what currencies people would actually use. The majority of people still pay with BTC, even though I make it clear that paying with LTC is much cheaper

Quite a few people are using STEEM now, I guess for the convenience, and zero tx fees.

Nice that you can now perform the account service with steem as well!

Do you create delegated accounts too?

Nope. These are fully paid accounts. You start with the same amount of SP as the creation cost (atm that's 15 SP).

Great to hear!

Can you guys access the account if the keys are changed?

Once you press "destroy keys", it removes all copies from our server.

Awesome. Its not that I doubt you guys, just curious :)

I am curious why you don't accept SBD.

There's an internal market which lets you easily convert to STEEM.

Accepting STEEM is easier for AnonSteem, as it means the customers will be re-fueling AnonSteem to make more accounts. SBD means I need to convert the SBD back into STEEM myself.

Good :)
