Is there currently no way of trading existing coins (e.g litecoin) to my steemit account?
Sorry if this seems stupid, I'm still green haven't looked into that side of things yet, but that was my plan.... If it gets listed on Binance it could go two ways?
It could be great for our community, but it could also destroy our community.
If enough people saw it on Binance, felt they could make a quick few dollars and then trade their steem to another currency.... Wouldn't that make steemit worthless, or be very harmful at least?
Bittrex is the best way to trade SBD, but that limits trading primarily to a US exchange. Poloniex is another one that exchanges SBD, but I've heard that you can't transfer in and out of the wallet. I don't know if they fixed that problem. HitBTC list both STEEM and SBD, but transfers have been disabled from the STEEM and SBD wallets for possibly a month now making it completely useless. We desperately need alternative exchanges in the event something happens to another exchange. If you can't move your SBD into an exchange to trade it for other currency, then what value would it have?
If SBD gets listed on Binance, there would be a pump and dump, but chances are that SBD would settle about 25% higher than it started.

Yes. Right now when you get rewarded in SBD, where are you going to spend it? It is very limited where you can use it, therefore the price of SBD is down. So when you get rewarded in SBD, there is less value in being rewarded with SBD. If SBD gets listed on Binance, there will be an increase in price of SBD and your rewards are worth more. If the SBD price goes up, you can buy more STEEM or other cryptocurrencies with it. In other words, you will benefit for your effort on Steemit.
