What timing - I have just found out that the Steemy App had been released a couple of minutes before this post. We were working on this design earlier though, so it overlapped!

Not released. Their post is an announcement of an upcoming announcement.

Yesterday there was so much confusion about the Steemy App, it looked like the App was already downloadable but it wasn't. And he didn't explain that properly.
So now my Design Proposal is still valid and maybe the steem community can still use it for inspiration.

But thank you anyway for upvoting the design work so that more people have the chance to see it now that it has been ranked higher.

In part obscurity and the somewhat random component of what gets noticed on this platform and in part because this is a design proposal not a promise of an app. Apparently the latter generates more enthusiasm.

I am eagerly awaiting an app for both iOS and android. What I have seen so far is nowhere near as good as your proposal.

I've noticed on my phone (still rocking the 4s I know time for an upgrade) that when there are a lot of comments the scrolling feature gets somewhat "jumpy" for a lack of a better term. That may be due to the processor of my ancient phone, but would be interested to have others weigh in.

Being able to post content from a mobile device easily will be key. Maybe you could work with @blueorgy to integrate the Steemimg.com file hosting service into the app.

It is very difficult to format with raw html on the phone, so an easy "Microsoft Word" type editor would be useful.

Push notifications are a must as you noted already, and whether steemit chat it the best for mobile or if you wanted to come up with something more similar to fb chat that would be a pretty nice edition.

Maybe instead of clicking on the little reply button when you go to make a comment something like this would be helpful.

So if you clicked anywhere inside one of those rectangles (the rectangles are just for reference) it would open a reply text box.

Also to the best of my knowledge the little // inside the square at the bottom right of the text boxes for comments and posting blog posts does not allow you to drag and make it larger so you do not have to scroll up and down to edit comments.

But I'm excited to see this come to fruition. If I can be of any help to you @sirwinchester, please feel free to contact me. Whether that be ideas or features etc. Would love to be a part of this project.

That's a good suggestion, thank you. I agree that the "reply" button can sometimes be a little to small to push with your finger.

I'm hoping that an iOS App will be a reality soon!

Absolutely! I don't know how hard it would be to then create an app for android and also for amazon's version of android as well, but the more devices the better. The amount of value added by a successful project like this will be astronomical.

With Steem Mobile already in review for iOS store, I think taking design ideas and improving app can be good, if you haven't, please check Steem Mobile on your Android note to see what you can expect iOS as well.

Hello @mammasitta, iOS app is in review by Apple, today I heard back from Apple, they said it will take little longer. You can checkout progress for Android now. For iOS, once review is done and released, I will push other changes that Android already has. Version 1.0.0 has been submitted to iOS review last Monday, since then Android had number of changes version 1.1.0... More changes coming tonight with version 1.1.1.
