How you can get recognized on Steemit, 100% working guide to end your struggle on Steemit!
If you are new to Steemit, I am pretty sure you must have already tried posting couple of blogs with rich content and images already. And you must have felt a bit down, as your posts are getting very little up votes and comments. Don't worry; today through this post I will tell you what exactly you can do, to improve your Steemit experience. Gone are those struggling days, let's put up some quality content and get some appreciation.
Let’s start from scratch:
1) Reputation and how to improve it: Your reputation on Steemit is very important, when you create an account your reputation is 25 by default, It can be seen next to your username, for eg shonyishere(25).
You need to put some work to increase your reputation, which can be done by commenting under some posts which are under "Trending" and "Hot" categories.
Make relevant comments, add humor if it is appropriate to the given content, never mock anyone, ask questions in comments again relevant questions, hopefully you will be replied and up voted by Whales.
"The early bird gets the worm" so the earlier you comment on a post more likely you will get a response. If you are too late the post owner must have exhausted their daily voting power and may choose not to up vote you even if you have a good comment, but they would definitely give a reply, and if you manage to stand out in the crowd people would follow you, Isn't it great that a whale is following you.
Whales follow very less people and if they would follow you, your chances to appear in their feed and to get up voted is a lot. Getting up voted by whales increases your reputation.
2) Randowhale and other upvote bots: Yes, oh yes this is one of the best features of Steemit, there is an up vote bot called @randowhale, who if alerted would come and upvote your content.
But, to benefit from @randowhale and similar bots you need to send them some SBD aka Steemit dollars, you need to send at least 0.5 SBD along with your blog post's link. Now, you might say I don't have enough SBD, If you would take action based on the other points mentioned in this blog post, you can easily get more than 1 SBD in a week of time.
Check this post from Randowhale himself about how to use him to get ROI. Like @randowhale there are couple of other bots like @buildawhale which is getting popular day by day. I would suggest @buildawhale and @randowhale to you.
3) Use proper tags: Relevant tags helps you reach the targeted audience, if your post is about a movie review it should reach tags like film, movie etc instead of steemit or bitcoin.
One mistake most newbie would make is not using the proper tags for the blog posts, instead of using random tags, go to https://steemit.com/tags and see if your content matches any of those tags, these are the most popular tags as you could see the activity of each tags and payouts that have happen under them.
You can use up to 5 tags in post, don’t use commas to separate tags, instead leave a space between each tag to separate them.
4) Steemit Contests, OMG never miss them: There are lot of contests happening everyday on Steemit. Organized by different users, lot of them are available for you in almost every category from photography contests to comment challenges etc. The sorts of rewards you can get by winning contests are the best part. Winning a single contest alone will give you a really really great boost, as most of them pay in SBD or as Steem power. I mean winning is not a big deal if you would put some effort. And since there are a lot of happening contests, even if you miss one you have multiple options left. You can discover contests under https://steemit.com/trending/contest . Take part in whichever contest you like and win some SBD and Steem power. Winning in contests is what have given my profile the best boost so far.
PS: You can start your own contests when you have enough SBD, Shhhh I just shared an Idea, now work on it, think about it, come up with something unique :)
5) Posting time: Even though the time of publishing the post is very important, most people tend to ignore it. So, always make sure you publish your posts when your target audience is awake and are active on Steemit, obviously you won’t be able to determine the active time for everyone but, what you can do is to find out the time zone of your target audience and post accordingly.
Let’s say you are from the US, and you are writing specifically for Indian audience, then you should check up the Indian standard Time(IST) and make sure they are not sleeping when you publish the post, as there is around 12 hour difference in time.
And it is recommended to post during weekdays as most people will be out during weekend. Evening 6 to 11 Pm in weekdays would be the ideal time in my opinion as most of us are active on social media and all at that time.
That’s it guys, if you would follow all these five points, it is more than enough for you to get success on Steemit. Since you have seen this post now you can’t complain, “I don’t have followers, I don’t get up votes, My posts are going unnoticed” etc. I have shared solution to all your worries. Now, it’s your turn to take action based on the given ideas. If you have any doubts, feel free to comment them, and do show some love by resteeming so that more people can benefit from this.

Good stuff. Question... Do you have any advice about changing tags? I've tried to improve my tagging to reach a better audience and I'm not sure if this hurts me.
Use tags very carefully, change tags only if they are not at all working for you. Use the relevant tags only, even though the tags have a lot of users doesn't mean you will get discovered, using the absolute right tags will work. I wish you all the very best :)
Thanks for sharing as very helpful to me
You are welcome, I am glad my post helped you!
