ShadowBot Updates!
The recent minor issue many experienced this last week was due to API node updates that were outside of our control. The updates made to the nodes we were using broke the New Post Fetching Daemon. We are happy to announce we got everything working again in a quick fix manner, however we are announcing 3 things:
We will be setting up our own API node going forward this week. This will ensure that our systems do not get broken due to an unexpected update another node decides to implement.
We will begin setting up and becoming a witness since we already will be running a full node/api.
Everyone who was a member during this issue will receive a bonus rank increase this weekend!
We apologize for the last 4 days of issues, our dev was out of the office for the first time in months and that was the week the primary nodes decided to change things unannounced! This month is going to be huge not only for Steem but for ShadowBot as well!

Never got a single vote since more than 2 weeks.
I will personally look into this, we had a few hiccups while the lead dev was out of the office and scraped by. Thank you for understanding and we will ensure everyone who sticks with us, gets their fair share. We don't operate on a daily balancing basis. We operate on a monthly balancing basis. This helps us weed out abusers. You give in the beginning, but you get back at the end more. IT ensures that those who get the vision and stick with us earn while those who want to abuse our system get nothing.
@deejcharitytrust and @shadowbot - I’m thinking about leaving. Why? My work isn’t receiving upvotes, which leads me to believe that my work isn’t valued here. That is okay with me. I’ll pack up and find another home.
Maybe there is something I’m not doing that would address this problem I’m having. - scrolling through the comments, I see that others are having similar issues and you haven’t responded. 🤨🤔

Let me take a look into everything. I am sure there is nothing you are doing wrong. We are working on a better introduction for new members. Basically our anti-abuse system forces new members to give more than they get. This is by design to weed out abusers. Those who stick around with us will see their rank increase and more and more votes sent to them. This is again by design with our anti-abuse system in mind. The idea is to take from new members to force "payment" while we monitor their account. Once we determine they are not abusers they begin getting more and more up votes from other members of the community. This system ensures we are only up voting good steemians and avoiding abusers/spammers/scammers. I will make sure to get you more information asap but I hope that helps answer a little of your concern.

We apologize again for the late reply, we have been so busy and with our lead dev away for a week it was even more chaotic than usual. We will all be working very hard the next few weeks to get everything above and beyond what everyone could even expect! Be sure to give us any feedback/input both good and bad you have. The only way we can keep growing is through our members' feedback!
I left. I’ve found other things I believe will be more fruitful for my time and energy, and I’ll be able to control who will get my votes.

Am really happy and glad that you guys have been able fix this issue , i love the way guys have haddled this problem openly and proffesionaly, steemon am praud to be part of shadowbot.
We appreciate every great steemian like yourself being part of this system! No system will ever be perfect! That is why we need everyone to keep giving us feedback, so we can keep adjusting and adapting and fixing things till we get as close to perfect as possible!

a shame I am gonna miss the bonus rank increase, i wrote my self out last week. I did not see any benefits anymore. I probably do not understand it too well. It has been good and for that I want to thank you.
Never too late to jump back in, we probably still have your information and you would get some benefits because we use a monthly average system. Basically we track each month not each hour or day to determine how good of a steemian you are. This ensures we are able to find most abusers and get them out of the system before they take much or anything from the good steemians!
