In all of these, the people of Lunga did not consider their river to be special, until one day, the mtsinje-lunga decided to cry what it never did before in the history of its existence.
It happened that as the other rivers visited it and were about to leave, the mtsinje-lunga decided to leave with them.
Unlike the other rivers which visited it and left after a while, mtsinje-lunga decided to stay much longer and refused to return to Lunga.
At first, the Lunga people did not bother about it. It was to them a scene of excitement to notice that mtsinje-lunga had for the first time travelled out and had stayed away from its abode. However, they did not know that the river had a different plan in mind.
For weeks, months, and then years, the river did not return. Then the people of Lunga thought that the river had gone permanently and suddenly decided to use its abode for other important things.

“My people, since the mtsinje-lunga has decided not to return, I think we should now turn that site to another amusement park where our children can play. I mean, what need is it to wait for a river that has left us for so long and refused to return?” an elder suggested.
“I think you ‘re right, my elder,” replied another elder, “Even if it retunrs, it has only benefitted the outsiders more than us. We do not really miss it as such, so why don’t we convert the site?” At the end, the elders agreed to try something new on the site of the stranger river. This however did not go well with an elder known as Sonkwe, who thought that such might only amount to sacrilege.
“If you ask me, my elders, I will suggest that we do not hurry into this adventure of building on the site of a river that has existed before so many of us were born, including our grandfathers and even great – grandfathers? I will suggest that we allow the river to use its site anyhow it pleases it. If it likes, let it return, otherwise, let it remain wherever it is.”
The other elders regarded elder Sonkwe as a weakling. They even attributed his suggestion to his own father, who always wanted things done peacefully even in the face of a full – fledged war.
Most of them laughed at him and others only looked at each other, as a sign of spite, but Sonkwe did not worry about all that. To him, he had only acted as an elder who must not be in a hurry to do things like the young outer parts.
Immediately, the preparation to occupy the mtsinje-lunga site began. Men were in their best to meet up with the time scheduled to build the amusement park for their children and even visitors.
They had invited as many people as they could to grace the event of the opening of the park, which would have such an amazing atmosphere.
Some people from the other communities also shared in their excitement to see the beauty of the park where a river had occupied for decades, but nne of them ever thought that the river could have other plans.
Each of the men in Lunga was given a responsibility and they were all at their best trying to meet up.

The people who once shared from the benevolence of mtsinje-lunga could not help but cry over the disappearance of the river that brought nothing but joy to them.
They wondered where it finally relocated to, being that from time immemorial, it had never left its abode and they could easily pick up their calabash and no matter the distance they had covered to get to Lunga, they returned to their communities. Unlike their own rivers that disappeared at any time without any sign.
They seemed to mourn over mtsinje-lunga than the Lunga indigenes, who were supposed to be more affected.
Eventually, the park was ready and the people of Lunga were full of excitement as their guests were all astonishingly waiting to enjoy the new park.
They had brought all kinds of food and drinks, and to some of them, the park would provide a peaceful environment to make new babies as they all came out with their blankets.
