How to get more followers

The Steemit community is growing in a fast pace and everyone tries to get a grip and establish theirselves here. What do you need to be established here on Steemit? Well you need to be rewarded to grow your reputation level, you need Steem Power that you can get from upvotes. But most of all you need good followers that up vote you content so you get that Steem Power and be rewarded to increase your reputation level. I’ll give you a few tips on how to get those followers you need!

First and foremost: Don’t follow for follow!

When you start out you want to have as many followers as you can get! That’s understandable but it doesn’t bring you anything. You see, those are only in quantity and only bring you follower number up. It’s better to have 10 good followers than 100 crap followers. Thus you have to really focus on getting those good followers and that does’t include the follow for follow method.

When you use this method, your new followers will most likely not read your content which in turn doesn’t give you the upvotes you desire and won’t get you the rewards you seek.

So how can you get those followers then?

It begins with your greatly crafted post

You have knowledge about a specific subject. Me for example know a lot about design, so I try to bring value to Steemit with Designing 101 courses. This is my unique blog post. When you post something you have to think about things that will interest your followers. In the beginning you try to do a bit more and see what sticks with your followers. When you found it you can continue on that subject.

Spend some time on that one post and write it well. If you aren’t sure about your English, then let it proofread. Also use headers and images if needed. That will help your article in a good way!

You got that great post but don’t know what sticks yet!

This is totally understandable and in the beginning you are trying to see what kind of followers you have. You have to consider 2 points. What do you like to write about and what do your followers like? Well the solution is to get to know your audience! When you post something you can go into discussions with them and at the end of your post you can do a Call to Action to provoke a response! Don’t be shy to message people as well. You can use the Steemit Chat or the Discord channel from minnow support that can help you!

I know my audience. What now?!

Great! You’ve started building your follower count. You want to have more people following you and there is a way! You have to Comment Comment and Comment some more! When people follow you, you can check out their blogs and if you like it or have something to say about it, then you can comment on it. Think well about your comments because they reflect what kind of person you are. Write an useful comment and not only the Author will read it, but also their followers. This is a great way to get more followers!

Your post deserves attention

Your post deserves attention. What is a good way? Well you can use the tags for that! When you post regularly you can create your own tags. I did it as well in my ‘Designing101’. I used it on my first 5 courses and it did bring me the rewards I seeked. If you aren’t posting about a thing on a regular basis you can use the popular tags as well!

These are my tips to gain more followers. But my biggest tip is just to have fun here on Steemit. If you have fun, it will reflect in your posts as well! Good luck!
