RE: Steemtopia Contest - 12.5 SD in Prizes up for Grabs

"In the next few years the struggle will not be between utopia and reality, but between different utopias, each trying to impose itself on reality ... we can no longer hope to save everything, but ... we can at least try to save lives, so that some kind of future, if perhaps not the ideal one, will remain possible." ALBERT CAMUS, Between Hell and Reason

Utopia for me, is a cultural space not a physical place. It embodies a radical shift in our guiding paradigms. Everyone already knows about these paradigms, they are the deepest held beliefs about how the world works. They are so obvious, why even mention them? The current belief as to how the world works assumes the following to be true: Nature is a warehouse of resources for human purposes. Those who have less money are worth less because money has real meaning. If you want more money, you merely have to work harder. Of course a person can "own" land. Nothing is greater than an individual's freedoms. Freedom is paramount.

These seem obvious to some. Most people are so indoctrinated that they've never considered an alternative to them to exist. Meanwhile, they seem counter-intuitive and downright destructive to me!

Surprisingly, we are already living in a utopia according to some people. Humans have mastery over the earth, we push back disease and death every day. The planet suffers but it is there for our use. As long as humans thrive no other species matters. For a some people there is no injustice, for a few there is nothing but growth and success.

A Utopia, as Emerson wrote, is made up of "the material apparatus which exactly corresponds to their state of thought.". The paradigm is what wraps Utopia in its form.

I've elaborated in some detail about my visions and goals here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@reneenouveau/my-response-to-what-do-you-want-steemit-to-be-revolutionary-cultural-space-and-support
But in short "I value authenticity, engaged action, idealism, equality, whole learning, activism, ecology, self-actualization, creativity, and altruism." All of these things seem glaringly obvious to me!

The Utopia born from these, my most deeply held beliefs, would be radically different than the world we know. The new goals for the systems that govern us would be to enrich and enlighten rather than enslave. The benefit is not simply for humanity but all. It would allow us to keep playing the game for as long as possible. The goal of the Utopian system is no longer to 'win, to win so much we tire of winning', but to perpetuate the game, so all can play.

Thank you for your entry! Very elaborate!
