📌✏️New members - don't give up so quickly✏️📌

in #steemit6 years ago

I want to take part in a contest from @thedarkhorse where you have to write a review about 3 steemers you like and of which you think they contribute good content on steemit.
One rule is, that the steemers reputation must be the same or smaller rank than yours.
In search of suitable steemians I went through my list of the people I follow. I realized that, i would say, almost 90 % of the new members are inactive just after few posts they made (in my list). I think that's a pity, since they started well, otherwise I would not follow them 😉.

So here are my words to new members :

DSC_6670.JPG

To grow on steemit takes time! But if you show some love to others you will get it back. Get involved with the people - show real interest - read..read...read and I can recommend you to participate in contests .
There are many people/groups with the great goal to help new members to get their interesting content more views and feedback. Take a look at this contest which is a great example and make also sure to read the comments as there you will find some more of those great people who are helping newcomers 😃.
Don't get frustrated because of the lack of feedback. Go and look for help! Don't stop writing - be active so you might get found by somebody who writes a review about you and BAMM you get feedback, upvotes and new followers.
Sounds too easy? In fact it is easy but you need patience and you have to disregard your ego that is screaming for attention right away - you won't get rich over night 😉.
Maintain your account with love and passion and you will soon see the positive result. 😃😃😃

Thanks for reading and happy steeming to everybody!❤️

Hey @psionic-tremors

i'm really thankful for your posting. I'm on steemit since a few days and also thought about giving up. Your post gives me motivation to not give up.
I will use your hints and try to grow on steemit smooth but effective. Today i started learn/read much about bounty programs on steemit, the next days i will research about these contests. by the way the contest of @thedarkhorse sounds interesting, so i think this will be my first contest :)
However, like i said thank you very much! From now on i will follow you and hope for more useful content in the future.
Follow me back and you will see that I belong to the 10% of people in your list who still are active in a few month :P

High @hille😃 ...i'm very glad my post had an impact on you...so i know it was worth writing it😃. I just visited your blog and what i would like to tell you is : be aware that steemit is not facebook and co where family and friends are happy to see that you had eggs for breakfast 😉. Find something of your interest to write about, so people with the same interests can find you. If you are not sure by now - comment as hell on other people posts with words in relation to their posts and never ever just say "nice post" or anything like that.
I'm looking forward to your entry for the contest! That's great to get involved.
Usually i don't do follow for follow - because you asked to follow back - BUT i make an exception in your case as i really want to see you grow and being active...so stick to your words 😛.
In case you want to use smileys in your posts here is a link:

What a refreshing post @psionic-tremors. I still feel kinda pumped with discovering the platform. The community is awesome and there's some great content gems in here as well. AND there's still so much to learn - I've been here for a few days only. Anyway, thanks for the great tips, as I believe much of the power of the platform comes from the mindset of the users. Cheers!

Thank you! ...Yes it can be a bit overwhelming to land on this platform ;) - there is really a lot to learn and to understand. I'm also pretty new but every day i learn a bit more. And it is amazing to see so many talented people - sometimes it's like discovering a whole new world ;).....I wish you a great inspiring time on steemit!...See you around :)

Oh these are such true words. If you keep on posting constantly, enough effort to write a really good post, and not just post something ... and indeed do not assume that you will get big upvotes right away. Then in the end it will all work out well. Cologne and Aachen are also not built in a day ... Like they say, "with a little love"

Most people spend most of their time writing posts (as that's where you're more likely to make money), than they do reading posts. There's also the issue that most of the good quality content written by minnows is buried under tons of poor quality content. At the end of the day, only the promoted content on steemit seems to get any real views or comments.

That's right...and that's why i say you have to read and comment, because that's how you build up your tribe with people who are then also reading your posts. If you just go post and post and don't connect to people nobody finds you. It is a lot of work but if you are willing to do it, you will see results. :)

Love the message! You are very correct there are a ton of inactive smaller members out there that just gave up to quickly. This isn't a get rich quick plan and it takes effort to get going. But long term there is so much to be gained from steemit.

This post by @tarazkp is a great read about how it takes work. I think it's something all smaller members, and many larger one should read.

I'm laughing at myself to upvote the bot spammer :)) -- i was so happy for the feedback and for the resteem that i thought i just upvote it. But ..yes you are right..i shouldn't - that was stupid...
Thank you for your feedback and for the the recommendation to read the post from @tarazkp. I will read that later ...now the dogs want to go out ;) ... And i'm still searching one more steemian for your contest. Have to read...read...read ;)

Yeah that happens sometimes. Plus sometimes the spammers look like they had good intentions. BTW, If you leave your vote it will give them a chunk of the bounty. To remove a vote just click on the upvote button again and then confirm on the pop up message.

LOL...just got done letting the dog out. He was stuck inside all of yesterday due to the rain, but it's sunny today and he was full of energy.

Looking forward to your post!

Thank you - i did not know that it is possible to remove an upvote....just did it :)

Now you have learned something new for the day!

@psionic-tremors What a great post! This is very encouraging and is great advice for starting out, or even seasoned writers still trying to build their blog. I love your positive vibes!! :) <3

Thank you @oregontravel :) - I'm glad you felt the positive vibes I want to send out :)

@psionic-tremors don't encourage the bot spammers with an upvote....save those for real comments from real people ;)

I was ready to flag this for you so it would be hidden...lol.

We Love You, We are trying to provide good information to the Steemians. We are working on being more valuable. We have tuned timing and delivery to be more selective. Please provide any feedback that will help us to be better support for the STEEM Network users.

Warm Regards,
@WeLoveYou

Nothing about your comment is helpful, it's spam looking for members to give you free delegations. Your spam wastes resources of the entire network and causes new members to have issues with bandwidth. Less spammers like yourself out there less issue our valuable new members will have with bandwidth.

So what you can do is shut down and leave steemit. That would be great, thanks for asking!

I will flag you 100% of the time I see one of your spam comments. Hope others follow suit.

We are providing statistics about the users account. Helpful statistics that are hard for users to find. We are resteeming and upvoting and, not that you want to help us be worth more... We can't please everyone all the time, but we still love you and everything you do here... Keep up the good work.

A comment that takes up nearly my entire computer screen to give 3 worthless "statistics" about an account which only took 3 lines and is then followed by 9 lines of self promotion is SPAM.

Do what you do and drop all the self promotion bullshit and maybe you can say your in it to help others. But you aren't, you are in it for MONEY. You charge to give out resteems and anyone that has been here more then a little while knows ALL RESTEEM services are SCAM ARTISTS. You provide zero value and leech money from the smallest members of our community.

So once again if your here to help steemit and not to rake in profits, actually help and leave the platform.

BTW anyone that wants actual useful stats can just go to https://steemworld.org/ (insert your user name) and get them. WAY more udeful info then anything spamminglovebot will provide.

This is great feedback, We will reduce the comment size and add better statistics, like rate of change, from last time comment on the same account. "All Resteem services are scam artists" is a an overstatement. We have put considerable work into make this valuable, and anyone that wants to get more visibility to our growing list of followers, can do so on a sliding scale to make it fair and affordable. Or goal is to grow and offer other related services. With your help we can grow. Thank you, We Love You.

Problem is resteem services don't work. People do not look at the resteemed posts in their feeds. So any payment at all is just a waste of money.

This can be seen by those who are resteemed to thousands of people yet still only have 5 of 6 views. If resteeming services worked that would never happen.

I get that you think you are helping and I truly appreciate that you are willing to make some changes to help make your efforts less spammy...really appreciate this. But at the end of the day it will be money tossed down the drain for those that pay you IMO.

With the changes you are talking about I will at least leave you alone in terms of flagging, but in no way has my opinion of these services changed. You just happen to be one that is willing to listen and make some changes. But in the end there is nothing you can go to cause other people to actually look at the posts you resteem.

Nice link steemworld... where do you see average votes per post, average word count per post?

Who cares about average words, that is a completely pointless "stat". Average votes is also useless, what matters is looking at your posts of a period of time and see if you are improving or not. Just look at the list of your posts towards the bottom of steemworld and you can see them in order and each post you can see how many people resteem it, total comments, total upvotes, and more.

You can also see when you are mentioned on there.
