This Idea could make Steemit go VIRAL!!
Listen here, I found out the ultimate solution how to make Steemit go viral with just a few implementations from the Developers, that would cost really nothing, but could send Steem coin itself to the Moon and make Steemit.com go viral at the same time.
One problem Steem has is inflation, and I think inflation can be fixed 2 ways, either by shrinking it, or by bringing more value to Steem, by buying Steem. In this case we will focus on the latter.
We could bring a lot of value from other altcoins into Steem, with this idea, creating a stream of money into Steem from other currencies. It could work wonderfully.
It would also solve the problem for newbies who earn little SP & SD on their posts, this implementation would help newbies who struggle on Steemit. It would be awesome, now everybody will be able to earn money!
THE SOLUTION
The solution is the Shapeshift button! It is called the Shifty Button, and it can be integrated into Steemit easily.
This way people could tip people with Steem or Steem Dollar, by converting their altcoins into Steem / Steem Dollar, and after the altcoins are converted the Steem and SD will be credited to their target's account. The button could be integrated into Steemit, showing it at the bottom of every article, so that people could tip the author, but also in the comment section, so that commenters could be tipped as well.
This is a wonderful idea, it stabilizes the price of Steem, by creating a constant inflow of value from tipping into Steem, and it can also help reward newbies to earn some money.
Most people here barely have any SP to vote, so they can't properly reward Steemit users for quality content, but I bet they all have some Bitcoins or Altcoin, that they can tip with.
So this implementation would fix 2 big problems: INFLATION & NEWBIES NOT EARNING MONEY, I am a genius!
Now make sure you spread this article, so that it can get to the Developers, I am sure they are looking for good ideas like this one to make Steemit go viral. Imagine if in the future 1 million Steemit users will constantly tip 5-10$ / article or comment, that could bring hundreds of millions of $ of value to Steem, literally!

With upvoting you don't give away your money. I'm not sure if you willing to tip 30 times a day with your own money. And I think that most of people join steemit don't own any crypto. Just my opinion.
This might work for people who don't for some reason want to join steemit. They could make donations to steemers via shapeshift instead.
Yes yes, this is too. Not all people make accounts, but they could tip via Shapeshift even if they are not logged in. So quality content can be rewarded either way.

You do, through inflation, which is not that directly visible but it's still there.
With this method you don't increase inflation, and actually decrease it by increasing the value of Steem.
It doesn't have to be 30 times/day, but 1$ here 5$ there, whenever somebody has some extra coins they don't need, they can tip it away. I was many times in a situation when I had to close down my altcoin wallets that had 1-2$ left in there, I would be glad to tip that away through Shapeshift in the future.
It could be beneficial overall in my opinion.
I understand your idea and I agree with you, but I'm afraid that vast majority of people don't think that way. Most of us are greedy bastards. We were train and brainwashed this way. So sad, but true. There are many good and honest individuals out there, but still in minority.
Well it depends, i dont think people are that greedy, besides 1$ here and there is nothing big, and better than nothing. People do tip people on Reddit via Bitcoin, so there is no reason why they wont do the same via Shapeshifted Altcoins into Steem.
There is already an integration with blocktrades on steemit (is kind of like shiftshape), so that could be also reused for this tipping button.
I guess the whole point of Steem was that you could do microtipping basically. Fees on Bitcoin already already relatively high for microtipping, but if we are talking about people wanting to tip "larger" amounts, I guess it could work.
An additional benefit: it would also make it possible for people who are not on Steemit and don't want to open an account here, to tip authors here anyway.
Sounds like a good plan, there would be no harm in trying that soultion out. I don't use shapeshift but if we had a "Shifty Button" on steemit, I would use it. Newbies on steemit could checkout my games and play to win steem dollars in the meantime.
It would be a wonderful feature, so that this way everyone could be tipped. Not all people, or newbies here own SD or SP, but they have to own some altcoins or bitcoin that they can tip with, so this way people could tip eachother, earning some money, and also helping to decrease the effective Steem inflation.

Yes, liquidity is a big problem, by making the market more liquid, and creating an inflow stream of value into Steem, it increases it's price, or atleast it stabilizes it against the inflation.
