My dear fellow Steemians, we all want to be successful at Steemit. We want to see our posts at the trending page, we want thousands of followers and we want our post to earn hundreds of dollars. However, a lot of us have yet to figure out how we can go about to achieve these goals. I strongly believe that when it comes to success, whether at Steemit or success in other areas of our life, we do not have to start from scratch or reinvent the wheel.

In my “Success Leaves Clues Series”, I looked at some successful Steemians and analyzed what they do to become successful. By adopting and adapting these strategies or actions, we can fast tracked our success at Steemit. In my first series I would like to feature @jerrybanfield who despite having joining Steemit on in May 2017 is one of the most successful Steemians. According to www.steemwhales.com he is ranked number 96 in terms of posting rewards.

It is very easy to unearth what actions or strategies that @jerrybanfield that he took which propel him to success because he documents what he does at Steemit.

1 Consistent and Quality Posts

One of the major reasons @jerrybanfield is so successful at Steemit is that he has put in the time and effort to produce quality posts day after day. He has already posted 266 articles which works out to be 1.86 post per day. There is no such thing as an overnight success. Initially your post may not earn much, but if it is a quality post, you will begin to attract more followers and both your visibility and reputation will begin to increase. If you put in the hard work consistently and have a long term mindset, you are on your way to success.

2 Investing In Steem Power

@jerrybanfield has purchased over $68,000 Steem and powered it up. Therefore he is not only a content provider, curator and witness at Steemit but is an investor as well. This is one of the cleverest strategies because with more Steem Power, he can exert more influence at the platform. The higher Steem Power makes him for visible and attract more Steemians to collaborate with him. I have also started purchasing Steem Power albeit on a much smaller scale. In addition, @jerrybanfield has reinvested most of his earnings from his posts.

3 Contributing Back To Steemit

@jerrybanfield has contributed back to Steemit in a number of ways. Perhaps his most valuable contribution is his advertising campaigns in Facebook and Google AdWords to promote Steemit to new users. So far, he has launched 28 campaigns and managed to reach more than 4 million people. Another notable contribution is his “Upvotable” posts where he featured deserving Steemians. I am actually featured by him in one his “Upvotable” posts and the exposure given is very beneficial. Therefore the question that we need ask ourselves is this “How can we contribute towards Steemit?”

4 Making Use Of Other Social Media To Get Exposure For His Steemit Post

This is one strategy that we can emulate. Besides Steemit, most of us have other social media accounts. @jerrybanfield posted his Steemit article on Facebook and Twitter. Thus his top post is able to garner over 30,000 views.

5 Engaging With The Steemit Community

@jerrybanfield has posted 2,815 comments and this worked out to be slightly under 20 comments every day. He also organized the first Florida Steem Meetup. In addition, he has embarked on a number of collaborations with other Steemians such as the SteemJ project for freelancers with @sarasate and producing videos and posts on witnesses with @lexiconical

When it comes to success at Steemit, we do not have to re-invent the wheel. The clues left by @jerrybanfield can certainly help us to navigate our path to success.
