HOW DO YOU ON STEEMIT STOP AN IMAGE FROM TAKING UP YOUR ENTIRE HORIZONTAL SPACE OF YOUR POST?steemCreated with Sketch.

Hi everyone, can you help me...

...with this question about Steemit posts? How do you ensure that when you put in an image, for example from www.pexels.com, or www.pixabay.com, which are the free image sites I usually use, from taking up all the horizontal space on your post?

Here's another, related question...

How do you prevent your main picture that shows up to the left of your title in people's feeds to also who up at the top of your post when they open it up?

To bad nobody replied it cause I am curious also. And sometimes I want the picture to be so much smaller it I don't know how :(
Hope somebody can help you soon (and me :p )

Cool lets see if someone can say something about this. I have questions and then I just make posts about it why not?

Hi somebody replied now, look below... have you seen this... Check this out it is simple. Upvote and follow other steemians, and get Upvoted and followed by other steemians. Here is my referral link: https://steemfollower.com/?r=988

Just saw it. Thank you for thinking of me!! Going to try it later on :D

You're welcome, go for it. Good move. Can I ask you a huge personal favour? :-)

Uhm...sure...You can ask me anything :)

Who do you know that is really good at coming up with new ideas for starting businesses? And who knows lots and lots of people?

Well here on Steemit I don't know a lot of people but on Facebook I do know a lot of people. And I also follow on FB and Insta Gary V and John Lee. But if you have a FB account there I can help you....here I'm still new to all and everybody.

Great! Shall I just follow you on FB?

There are two ways that I am ware of. ^_^

One is to use a picture with dimensions small enough to not require smaller text.

Another is to use columns to 'halve' the available space.

[div class="pull-left"]
Left side column
[/div]
[div class="pull-right"]
Right side column
[/div]

Substituting ][ for ><.

Thanks for this information. Much appreciated!

Just want to make sure - so these are things that you type into the Raw HTML?

You're welcome.

You can technically post the link of a youtube video directly - but the quality seems inferior to embedding the proper way.

Yes I use the default editor and insert the markdown and html tags manually. :c)

Fortunately I can go over the preview before posting so most 'errors' I catch pre-submission.

Can you send me an example I have almost no idea what you are talking about...

What do you use for image editing? :c) I recommend Paint.NET but you can use Photoshop or Gimp.

Have you ever used layers in such a program before?

No never. I use ms paint the windows app I guess...

OK :c)

Get Paint.NET.

Its free.

Its much more powerful than Paint.

And its also much easier than GIMP and easier than even Photoshop.

Experiment.

Create an image with 3 layers.

A black background layer.

A middle layer that you put a rouch sketch on (or copy an image).

A top layer that you write some text.

When you work in layers the overlaps are not destroyed and so you can adjust your art easily.

Let me know if you get stuck.

working in layers... mmmm ... ok... o yeah cool that is a good way to make memes and ads too right?

I am Groot! :D
