Best ways to make money online (3 years of experience) [Ranking of Worst to Best]

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

About 3 years ago, I first started making money on the internet. In these 3 years, I've come across a lot of different things and
I'll rank these ways of making money here. Please note that there are more ways of making money and that these are just the ways I have tried. Also note that this list depends on luck, skill and many more factors. Whilst this ranking may be true for me, it might be a whole other story for you.

Here is a list of 10 online jobs that you can use without even having to be 18+!!! PS: It works for 18+ too, for if you were wondering :P

I also added self-made art to some of the methods! I made it myself, so it's not super 100% mega ultimatum quality, but it's better than pure text... :-)

Gambling
Gambling is an addictive and money-consuming thing. I'd recommend you to stay away from gambling, as the average income people make with gambling is below 0. Below 0? Yep. It actually makes you lose money in the long-term. Ofcourse, you can be lucky from time to time and you can actually become a millionaire by gambling, but it's a VERY* low chance and I definitely wouldn't risk it.

faucets.png
Faucets (Collecting, Creating & Referals)
Faucets like freebitco.in, freedoge.co.in, moonbit.co.in, ETC! They give CryptoCurrencies 100% for free and aren't useful at all. Why? Because the amounts of money they give are VERY low! Freebitco.in, one of the most generous faucets, gives 0.2 cents worth of Bitcoin normally. If you get lucky, there is a change you can get higher, but those are quite low chances. On other faucets, the payouts are even worse... So if you would claim 24 times per day (each hour), you would get 4.8 cents per day... That 365 days per year makes only $17.50, for A LOT of effort claiming each hour!

Creation of faucets may make a bit more money, but you will need a lot of luck and effort to actually get people to actively use your faucet. Although there are exceptions, most faucets don't make a lot of money. It's mainly a couple of faucets that basically dominate the playing field.

Getting people to join your referal link may also be an option. If you do this, I recommend High-Paying faucets that also give a high % of referal rewards. The faucets mentioned above, which were Freebitco.in, freedoge.co.in and moonbit.co.in, each give a 50% referal bonus. That means that if you get 100 referals on freebitco.in, each claiming 5 times a day, you would make $1 per day. That's not tons, but it's fully automatic profit once you got those referals. Obviously, you will need people that actually want to kind of waste their time claiming from these faucets though...

Sport Betting.png
Sports Betting
Although I thought this one would be a kind of easy way to make money, it really wasn't. Sports is much more unpredictable than I thought and it's hard to find profitable Sports Tipsters. It's kind of gambling, with the odds a bit more in your favour if you're good at predicting sports games outcomes. In all honesty: I wasn't good at that!

Arbitrage Trading
Arbitrage Trading is pretty risk-free money. It comes in 2 versions: Trading between multiple pairs inside 1 exchange and trading between multiple exchanges. I mostly traded between multiple pairs inside of 1 exchange. It was risk-free profit, but it wasn't really tons of profit. Besides, you'd need bots to actually make a decent amount of profit with this, because doing this in your head goes way too slow. I'm not a bot programmer, so I really didn't know how to create a bot for this and I was too lazy to learn how to.

Anyways, I'd recommend getting a bot if you want to try Arbitrage Trading. Cryptopia has a Yarrrrrbitrage, which is basically an Arbitrage Bot that lists all the price differences between exchanges. You could try using that too.

Freelance Jobs
Freelance Jobs, like Translating, Writing, Programming, ETC, can be quite profitable too! I tried writing some articles and translated Dutch-English and English-Dutch, which yielded me some nice money. The main problem with this is that you do need some skill and that you need to "work", which many lazy people don't want to.

If you get into Freelance Jobs, I'd recommend sites like Freelancer.com and Upwork.com . Although they charge high fees, there are a lot of Employers and Employees there, which makes finding a job quite easy. There are some Crypto-Freelance sites too, which include CryptoGrind and XBTfreelancer. I'd recommend checking these out too, because they have very low fees and they really need some more users.

Cryptocurrency Trading
Cryptocurrency Trading is a risky, but also very profitable way of making money! Cryptocurrencies can double or even triple their value in just a couple hours. That makes it very profitable. You should watchout with investing in the wrong Cryptocurrencies though, as it could just aswell fall to half its original worth in the same day. Always do your research on this one, as it could make you lose a lot of money if you invest in the wrong crypto, although I assume you've heard that a lot already :P

bitcoin.png
BitcoinTalk Signature Campaign
Many projects/companies use Bitcointalk (A forum about Bitcoins) to advertise themselves. All you have to do to make money from this, is posting on your Bitcointalk account with an advertisement in your signature. It's not much effort for quite a nice amount of money you can make with it. And it's easy too!

Please note that Bitcointalk doesn't like spam and you will be blacklisted if you spam the Bitcointalk forums with low-quality posts. Simply spamming means you're banned from Bitcointalk, but if you post low-quality posts, you will probably not be banned, but rather blacklisted, which means most Signature Campaigns won't accept you anymore. Therefore I suggest doing this one only if you're good at creating informative & useful comments/threads.

Bounty Hunting
Bounty Hunting, which I've mainly done on Bitcointalk, includes Signature Campaigns, Translation, Social Media Campaigns, Blogging Campaigns and more. It's great for cryptocurrencies or projects to get themselves off the ground and great for you to make money from! Depending on the success of the cryptocurrency/project, you are able to make hundreds of dollars from simple work, like retweeting on twitter, posting on Bitcointalk or translating the whitepaper.

I'd recommend not to blindly apply for any project though and you should do your research, or you will be simply wasting your time on nothing.

Blogging
Blogging, like posting on Steemit or having your own website, is a great way to make money. I mainly post on Steemit and it makes me some nice money doing things I like to do. Because I like to do it, it doesn't really feel like work, but I still earn money from it! It's a great thing to do, together with the other methods I use to make money, listed above.

My Recommendation
I would recommend atleast trying the following: Cryptocurrency Trading, Bitcointalk Signature Campaign, Bounty Hunting and Blogging, although I'm quite sure most of you are blogging already... :-)

These ways don't require tons of effort, could be quite fun and are very profitable.

Great post :) I have been trying for years to create an online, passive income and I finally succeeded thanks to cryptocurrencies. Now the goal is to increase my passive income to its full potential

I have over the last four years built up a fairly healthy monthly income from selling options - I do it online using a broker each month and have started posting about it on my blog here. It's not rocket science, but does require patience, restraint, common sense, and a few other skills - and a bit of a bankroll to start with

Haha - no idea why you've been downvoted to 1.

Español? Es bunghole! Habla, blah habla, habla habla, habla bunghole...

I'm not sure what that is... I'll definitely check your blog out and do my research on that one. Always in for new ways to make profit! :-)

Great post. Thanks for the info. Do you have any good sources or recommendations for bounty projects?
I've only recently go into this, but it looks to be quite profitable.
Maybe you could list some and you'd get the referral too.

Here's an example of one I have found recently, for authorship coin. (With my referral link 😝)
In case you hadn't found it yourself yet

http://bounty.authorship.com/ref/z8147148

They are giving away 75 ATS just for signing up.
(And full disclosure, I get 75 ATS per referral too)

Yeah, I thought it'd make the post look like I'm doing it for the referal links only so I didn't list them. Thanks for the suggestion though, and I'll do it next time I make such a post. :-)

By the way, I've already registered on Authorship, sorry :P

I'd be more than happy to use your referral links if you post any and draw my attention to new ones.👍

That's nice to hear. FYI, I'm not really posting a lot of these though, but I thought I'd just share my experience on it to help people.

At almost 40 years of age I have come to the conclusion that the easiest way to make money is to have money in the first place.
The second most easy way to find a "hungry" market and serve it with a product or service.
Just my two cents ...

Still, you'd have to use that money in the right way to make any decent amount of money... Ofcourse, by investing, you could earn way more with a lot of money in the first place, but you could just aswell lose it if you don't invest it right. Therefore, I don't think that's always true.

I totally agree with that. Most of the times all you need is common sense , which people don't have when it comes to money.

Some of it is really cool!

I had a bitcoin faucet last year and this is how i started to make money online and learn basics about hosting, domain name, google adwords and affiliate links. I find it's a good starting point but it's hard to scale and grow up, so i didn't go along with it. Indeed, there's a lot of way to make money online but the most difficult is to scale your revenues to grow your business. Good luck and thank you for this information.
