RE: Are we seeing a spill over Fiat mentiality on Steemit...

in #steemit7 years ago

All this commotion, can only be attributed to a conditioned "FIAT" based mentality where, there is a need to accumulate wealth, because there is an impression of scarcity that looms in the air.

Isn't that the opposite of a 'fiat mentality'? Fiat money is just numbers, and we can never run out of numbers.

Sort:

Fiat money is based on a centralized system, such as federal reserve and or central banks, that is controlled by a minority. Which means those who control the wealth have too much power they really don't deserve. Because it's the real ponzi scheme, thats why we all tend to struggle and work our lives off, to make a living. With a blockchain environment, the system is de-centralized, which means no central control. Abundance thrives in such environment collectively. If you get my point, hence by sharing in a decentralized system, we all win.

Do you believe that Crypto currencies will replace fiat money?

Yes, it's a matter of how soon it will happen. It depends if the majority see the benefits of using crypto money over fiat money quicker it will happen next 2 years or so. What we can do to make the world a better place is be the good examples, that's why I really admire what @sydesjokes is doing. It can been seen as a force for unification for a better world free of opression and greed.

I can see the pro's of using crypto, but they appear to be dwarfed by the con's. Do you see changes ahead that would make crypto more stable?

Well think of it this way, the majority is currently using fiat money. If more people migrate over to crypto because of understanding the true nature of what it is. Then obviously it will stable out at some point, because more innovative ways will be deviced to stabilize things, it's just human nature. However, right now it's highly speculative, and it is more or less expected as well. The party is just getting started. 😁

The majority are using fiat money because that’s the only thing that the government will accept for the payment of taxes.

Combine that with the volatility of cryptocurrency (Bitcoin is hyper-deflationary) and there’s little or no reason to believe that things will change without a major redesign.

Don't be short sighted. Bitcoin is not the only blockchain crypto currency around. I was refering to crypto currencies in general. Governments will have to adjust if the masses move over, blockchain doesn't care what country you operate in. It will have become too much of a hassle to actually put an end to it, after the fact that the masses finally realized it's pros. It's here to stay. The fact that we are chatting about this on a blockchain based site, is one of many reasons it will only grow.
