RE: HOW DO YOU ON STEEMIT STOP AN IMAGE FROM TAKING UP YOUR ENTIRE HORIZONTAL SPACE OF YOUR POST?

in #steemit7 years ago

OK :c)

Get Paint.NET.

Its free.

Its much more powerful than Paint.

And its also much easier than GIMP and easier than even Photoshop.

Experiment.

Create an image with 3 layers.

A black background layer.

A middle layer that you put a rouch sketch on (or copy an image).

A top layer that you write some text.

When you work in layers the overlaps are not destroyed and so you can adjust your art easily.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Sort:

working in layers... mmmm ... ok... o yeah cool that is a good way to make memes and ads too right?

Absolutely. A meme is nothing more than a picture with a few words on top of it (but with 2 layers, one for the image and one for text you can move the text around and change it as you please (you will have to retype it for major changes :cP).

OK yeah and then what is the third layer for?

For a simple meme there is no purpose - but different layers of image can interact with each other (thanks to opacity/ transparency features).

Take things one step at a time. The three layer exercise is just to get you comfy with layers.

OK makes sense. Thanks so much. Can I ask you a huge personal favour? :-)

I'd have been able to give you an answer by now if you had specified what the personal favor requested is. :cP

Apologies, who do you know right now that has a huge following on Facebook? Have a wonderful day!

No need to apologize. Seeing that I gave up on facebook a long, LONG time ago - I think there's a Mark Zukerberg somewhere in there who has a big account but beyond thagt - I have no idea... :cP

Have a great day also.
