Lukestokes with TerryBrooke on the true currency of Steemit.steemCreated with Sketch.

Obviously I'm still more or less a newbie on STEEMIT. I would say, this platform is very tough and complicated. But I don't plan to give up pretty soon since I can see a lot of people making money on STEEMIT. This is why I have went into research to learn new strategies to maximize my gains on STEEMIT and believe me guys, I have fallen in love with this DTuber, Terry Brooke cause I usually find answers to what am looking for in his videos.

Recently in one of his videos where he was interviewing Lukestrokes, something I found very important was discussed and I wanna share this with people with similar problem and looking for solution and that's the true currency of STEEMIT.

Terry-- Sometimes STEEMIT can be very discouraging. People get involved and they pour their heart out into making a post and they end up making nothing or few pennies and they like... Damn, I don't know if I can do this any more. What would you say to them? What tips on STEEMIT success would you give them?

Luke--- Its a great question and one thing I often ask, not even only about the steemit system but when you talk about success in any area, and that's defining success. So alot of people define success on STEEMIT as just financial rewards but that's wrong.

Luke continued, the true currency on STEEMIT is not Steem Back Dollars, its not Steem, its not Steem Power. It's relationships and that's the real value in the eco-system. I think people have to figure that out for themselves. They can chase the financial rewards for a while, maybe they will have some success or maybe they won't and then they have to come back to reset what they think success actually is.

Luke continued -- Another thing I with have to say is if you wanna have interactions, if you wanna have success on steemit, you will have to build relationship, build reputation and provide enough value to enough people, then people will say for example "oh waow I want to make sure this guy continues creating content", so they might add you to an automatic upvote bot". I have a number of people I interact with and support through my voting power and even when I miss one of their post, i eventually see others.

Luke still speaking-- So its all about building relationships. Think about ways you can provide value to other people. Think long term strategically about what value you can bring to the community, what relationships you wanna have, follow those people. Don't just follow anyone and don't just have anyone follow you. Diligently follow your community and communities you wanna know more about and then through that process, rewards and other forms of success will come because that's what worked for me. I provide as much value as I can so that more people will say " hey we need to make sure this guy keeps providing value cause its benefiting all of us so much that I wanna make sure he gets encouraged and upvoted once a while. And that's what works long term.
..........................
What I have learnt from the above exposition is that Followers are very important. Not just getting followers from anywhere but organic followers interested in what you put out, and you should not just follow people because they followed you but people you really enjoy what they put out. Its not just getting the followers but also engaging, interacting and relating with them.

So Minnows, there is the answer to the question you've been asking. I advice you follow these guys @terrybrooke and @lukestrokes because they are sharing really informative contents and expirences that will help make the most out of steemit. I didn't say everything they talked about in the interview, I just talk about the part am interested in so its necessary to follow him, that's @terrybrooke ,watch his videos and that way you get the full gist.

Thanks for your post. I've been on Steemit since January and I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Yes, it can be disheartening when you spend ages on an article for it to garner little attention - but I still have the pleasure of sharing my ideas. However, I agree with your main point that it is about the relationships. I find commenting (thoughtfully) on other people's posts shows you have engaged with them.

Yeah exactly. For example, now i am aware u re human from your thoughtful comment and i just checked out ur blog to see what u do. I actually loved the stuffs u put out hence followed you.
