A path to be walked. Some questions about the last plan announcement by the Marketing team

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

The Steem marketing team, in its last post, announced at least 3 new coming features:

  • a protocol to submite proposals and vote for them;
  • a "Communities" - or "groups" - or "subreddits", or what it will be - option
  • a 1-click sign-in procedure.

That's the most concrete content of the last Steemitblog post, as far as I understand. Then there are guidelines and a path to be walked. The whole vision looks very ambitious. I can't see how much of this ambition is real and how much is just motivational ;) But it doesn't matter. I like the project, even if I can't see the next steps clearly.

I mean, the goals to  have "a Steem Ecosystem of Apps", to bet on a mobile app (nothing to say about eSteem?), to create a 1-click onboarding system, to have the post stream subdivided in Communities (like the subreddits are) are well plain.

Not so clear - at least to me - is this "crowdsourcing" and voting process from which the current community of active users should take out the way to achieve those goals. Using polls, perhaps? Letting spontaneous groups to develope new features (in a new interface) by themselves? Letting  @andrarchy  choose - after a discussion?

I'm trying to develope at least 3 simple services for Steemit and for Steem:

  • a Tutorial/Help page for italian users
  • a real e-shop to buy/sell things and services between Steemians using Steem and SteemDollar
  • an Art Gallery to attract in Steemit artists and let them earn money from their artworks.

That's why it is important to me to understand as soon as possible HOW the road   Mitchell Loureiro (@zurvanic) and Andrew Levine (@andrarchy) designed will be walked down - specifically.

I would add this: as far as I saw, the most of the users who takes part actively in the developing of Steem and Steemit and in discussing it are programmers, developers, geeks. A great team - with its limits - that has already created many  good external apps and services. But they have already given (and earned?) a lot... Is this early core of the Steemit community still willing to work for "free" and for a risky purpose? And is there a community out of this group?

Sort:

not a great feedback for this post, though ^^

what would be great feedback?

more comments, perhaps, and some answers. :)

We Steemians have a lot to look forward to. IT CAN'T COME TOO SOON!

Just discovered your post Paulo. Very interesting to read you want to create additional value on Steemit. I'm playing with similar ideas. There are so many communities and communication channels out there in the world that also can be enabled on Steemit. Are you on Dicord?

Hi edje. Yes, I follow some channels on Discord: steemtrail, steemitalk and stp mostly. I'm goint to start a project with the steemtrail guild right today. you can contact me on discord or also on the steemitchat :)
