Why Facebook will Lose in the Fight with Steemit. [4 Good Reasons]

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

This post complements the article written by Inken. Understanding to some extent the psychology of man, I want to share some additional arguments in favor of the Steemit.

1. The topic of money is really catchy.

All that concerns the money theme, causes deep unconscious emotions. When it comes to money, the man immediately feels emotional arousal. So the topic of money is really catchy.

Similarly, when talking about sex or religion. These three themes (money, sex and religion) are very important for the subconscious of almost every. As soon as someone touches these topics, the subconscious is activated.

Since the system pays money for the posts, it affects the subconscious mind much stronger than Facebook or other social network giants.

I'm sure you noticed that the Steemit world is filled with very intense emotions. Because everything soaked with water. And that's good. Money is a catalyst. Money awaken a person's potential and helping him to change himself. That's why Steemit really changes people's lives. I mean, it's not just nice words, it is a reality. Becausew where there is money there is energy for real change.

My first article brought me a little money. But then, at some point, the community has rewarded me more than 1000$. Of course I told about it to my friends. As a result, they also joined the system and started writing posts. And maybe someone started to write for money. However, after some time, the opportunity to Express yourself through blogging begins to bring pleasure. Thus, money is able to push the man to the discovery of new facets of herself.

Where there is money there is emotions. Where there are emotions, there is life. Where life abounds - there will always be people. In this sense, Facebook is weaker than Steemit. Facebook doesn't stimulate people through the energy of money.

2. Steemit allows to earn time, and Facebook - only to spend.

But there are even more important and global superiority of the system over the Facebook. Steemit allows each participant to share the economic success of the project. In other words, Steemit made for people. And Facebook - in an economic sense made for its owners (a small group of people). We can say that Steemit creates "jobs." Steemit - similar to factory. And Facebook is just a big hypermarket where you only can buy something. We buy there information in exchange for our time. But in Steemit we get the money. And money is time. If I have money, I have free time. So, Steemit allows me to earn time, and Facebook - only spend. As you can see, although both looks like a social network, they are different in nature.

Here, I want you to understand my point. Time is the most valuable resource on earth. And I like how Robert Kiyosaki defines wealth. Wealth is measured by the time during which you can afford not to work. That is, how much free time you have, so you are free. And money allows us to buy free time that can be spent on what we want. This is the value of money. That's why I'm talking here about "earning time" and "spending time".

3. And if we look to the future, we will see the economy built on the basis of Steemit.

We will see many products and services that can be purchased for Steemit cryptocurrency.  Roughly speaking, in Facebook you can only have fun, but Steemit will allow people to provide for themselves. I already wrote about how good may be Steemit for business building because of the transparent and convenient opportunities for contact.

The system will grow into something more than a modern social network. At some point people will start to exchange goods and services.

And Steemit probably will be the most incredible marketplace in the history of the Internet.

4. Have you noticed that here is much less trolling and inadequate than in Facebook?

Why? Because if you behave inappropriately - you will have no money. And almost no one consciously strive to be poor. Therefore, even religious topics are discussed calmly. Isn't that an obvious advantage of Steemit over Facebook?

In other words, people in Steemit think about the quality of the content and the quality of their comments. Facebook is unable to punish you for bad behavior, and Steemit can. And that's good. This is a great advantage of Steemit.

Reputation and money are the two main values in Steemit.

Reputation is hard to gain and easy to lose. And it facilitates people to become better. If you have already have Steem Power, you will not want to abandon your account, but in Facebook you can easily make new once your reputation is lost. And thus Steemit is much closer to real life. Because in real life you also can't just change your body. Of course, this is possible thanks to plastic surgery, but it is too expensive and difficult to regularly use it.

Thus, the quality of the content in Steemit will only grow. And Facebook one way or another contributes to the trolls. And trolls create a very unpleasant atmosphere. Why do people go where there is an unpleasant atmosphere? Better they will go to Steemit, where people are able to communicate respectfully.

So I think that the victory of Steemit over Facebook - it's a matter of time.

  1. Steemit is based on a fundamentally different economic concept than Facebook. Thus in the future everyone can easily start their own business and to earn not only on posts.
  2. The quality of the content here is driven by money. Because reputation has real value here, and that promotes respectful communication.
  3. Steemit gives us more free time (and freedom), allowing us to make money. And Facebook only takes away our free time.
  4. And in the end, money is able to attract people, using the power of the subconscious.

It is therefore evident that the Steemit growth potential is much higher than the potential of Facebook. And that Facebook will eventually occupy the same position on the Internet which is instant messaging. It will not disappear, but it will not be a leader.

Feel free to discuss this. And let's altogether make Steemit №1!

Sort:

Are the two comparable?

Most people use Facebook to share things with friends, you can't do the same on Steemit.

I'd rather compare Steemit with Twitter or Reddit.

You may be right. But still, I think that one day developers will implement private messages and access levels. In any case, they are comparable as online products.

Agreed - they aren't comparable products.

Great post.
Facebook became just a waste of time.
Real friends mixed with ex friends or strangers, everyone spying each other for gossip.
Check my post about Fb and my behavior on it :)

I agree. FB is a way of taking money from people, and steemit gives freedom
