WHAT STEEMIT MEANS TO AN AVERAGE NIGERIAN LIKE ME- From Lagos with Love!
There is the other side to every story that ever existed, so it is left for individual hearer to choose which side of the story to believe and stick to, and the the ones to be discarded. For the record, i was a novice in the cryptocurrency world until i joined steemit back in March.
One critical fact is this:
In Nigeria; when citizens hear the word online trading, the general perception is Forex, Gold or Silver tradings. So rewind back to 2016 when @postit first told me about "Dash", i was like WTF is Dash like a superhero or something? I later did some little research on it, got a Dash wallet on my phone which i never used and "Ptff" that was it...Forgotten!
Then earlier this year, when i finally got to know about steemit, flashed back; "Steem is the Cousin to Dash", that was what came to my mind.
Believe me or not, Dash and Steem were the two Cryptocurrency i knew before Bitcoins!...Sloppy right?
But in this part of the World where internet and lack of adequate power supply is eating us up, i really did not fault myself much on it.
Today, i can boast of many more Altcoins i now know and even trade a bit in some based on all the info i have gathered on Steemit. To any Nigerian reading this; debunk my assertion- "Steemit exponentially increased our knowledge about certain things" and from my own end, it has ultimately improved my researching skills.
There was a time i can stay couple of days without internet on my Phone, but now; that will be the end of me if i do not go online Steemit for at least 5 hours in a day.
Why?
Steemit is now my regular source of information; multiple things to read from the feeds.
I meet new friends on the average daily.
Steemit makes me forget all the travails of my dear "President-less" Country.
What about all the rewards? I couldn't forget to mention that.
I gained priceless business ideas to boost my Country- Nigeria's Economy.
For some single guys like me, Date a Steemian Channel on Discordd is not something i like to miss daily.
I saved this for the last part; Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and others could not afford me the luxury of knowing this Nigerians: @infovore , @surpassinggoogle, @fistenganos , @ogochuwku , @ehiboss , @gbenga , @ogoowinner , @epikcoin , @maryfavour , @lucashunter , @destinysaid , @richguy , @icontola , @ejemai ..... and many more names to list.
As far as i know,no other platform is as responsive and as Active as Steemit, no other one could bring you up close and personal with bright and smart people like this guys. Hopefully we will break-a-leg with SIN, meet each other in November. But before then; More Steem and More inner Strength to @ehiboss and crew for the SIN idea, we gonna pull it off guys!
I totally relate to all you have said here,
The people and community is so great
the information we get on here is priceless...
To the skies !
Thanks for getting my vibe bro....Steem on!
I lovely positive article and best wishes finding a girlfriend 🦋
AWWWH!.....i miss you
Dropped a message on steemchat for you
Nice post :) I totally agree on the points that you mention. We don't have a "President-less" country here, but however sometimes you just wanna escape from the daily pressure. Then steemit is a really nice place where to stay and free your mind, get inspired and feel good again.
Enjoy your weekend! :)
Am honored to read your comments @surfermarly ; i missed all the fun and adventures from you......Gracias!
Thank YOU! I'll be back with a new adventure on steemit tomorrow :-)
So stay tuned.....
Yippieee!
All my fingers crossed😁🤗
This is 11:55 PM and i should be in church for vigil but heck, there is light otherwise known as power (something that comes once in a while in Nigeria) how can i afford to be in church now when i should be on steemit? I can always go to church on Sunday and use my earnings on steemit to pay offering and tithe.
:) I don't mean to sound arrogant to God, i love God but heck i need to be on steemit to make a living and make a life
If that is your conviction, no pressure man.
Glad to see that Steemit means so much to you already. This is just the beginning and hopefully we begin to invite people to join based on these factors and not solely monetary reasons.
Affirmative!
Reward-wise i haven't earn much since After HF19 and i never despair. The few i tried to bring in are one leg in one leg out cos they expect to make 1grand in their 2nd week😆.
Howdy Neighbor! I hope you are well my dear friend!
Am well dear Richie....Top of my bucket list is to visit you in the US and we go search for some diamond at that park you told me😎
Let me know when and I'll find out where it is!
Lol!....Once i have enough Cryptos to pay for my flights
Africa, to the world- in dbanj's voice
Great work sir @oluwoleolaide.
I look back and wish all the time and energy i spent on nairaland and facebook were directed here. Its an honour to have met such great people over the course of my stay on steemit. With new nigerians joining steemit everyday, i can only guess at the future ramifications of this foundation we as nigerians on steemit are laying down.
Yes buddie, its been a priviledge to be here and i hope to make the best of it.
