How do you judge a quality content?

Hello, Steemians!

Thank God it's Saturday.

Today, I'll like to touch a topic that has been an issue on this platform. When a newbie ask me how to get noticed by the community, I usually tell  them, "create quality contents, read other people's posts, comment on it  and socialize". Then some of them will ask me questions like, does it  have to be a long post? most of the posts here that got the community's  attention are long. I simply tell them, you must not write a long post.

However, I have come to notice that short posts don't gain much traction here. Is a post supposed to follow a certain pattern before it would pass as a quality content here? What does the word quality mean? Is it not a  relative term? What seems valueless or low quality to you, might worth  more than a gold to me.

What is the definition of Quality?

The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something. Source.

Now, who measures the degree of excellence? What criteria does he use to measure it?

You call a long post great, and I see it as boring. You call short posts  low-quality posts and they are the ones I prefer to read.

You see some grammatical errors and write it off, but I choose to overlook those errors as English is not the first language of most users here. Since I could understand the message passed across, I hold the post in high esteem.

You see a topic and think it's not a good one, but that could be the most interesting topic I have read on steemit.

You think a picture in the post is not connected to the article and I see the connecting lines.

Just my thoughts

For me, a quality post could be any topic. What doesn't interest me might be useful to another.

A quality post should be free from plagiarism.

A quality post should have minimal typos and misspellings.

The pictures in a post should be clear and concise.

If you are doing a video, use a high-quality camera and the audio should be sound.

A quality post should be free from racism, prejudice and anything that threatens human existence and peace. It may not matter to you, but it  does to me. I am a humanist and to me, such things should be the number criteria we use in measuring a good content.

I use the Plag social media platform and just a single Card can lighten up my mood all through the day. I must not read 10 pages text before I grab a thing from it. I follow @blazing, she is not into the long posts type, yet I learn a lot from her blog.

It's time to broaden our horizons on what we assume to be a "quality content". Everyone who is creating an original content here should be given a space to feel the Steem Blessings.

So many people to a great extent still prefer facebook because you are just yourself on facebook. No fear of losing out. I see a lot of people forcing themselves to write on  scientific topics, cryptocurrency and others trending topics because they want to join the winning team. These whole thing is taking the fun out of this platform.

How about if we allow people to just be themselves and still give them the support? I believe this will make here a lot more fun and accommodating to so many. We need more users and let them come with their styles. Let's bring fun and originality into steemit

Over to you. What are your thoughts? How do you judge a quality content?

Your contributions are welcomed. Together we shall make the Steem Blockchain Great.

Steem On!

Absolutely true. We need to encourage newbies to be original and not force themselves to a particular trend. Great insight @ogoowinner.

Thank @woleybabz. I see some of them asking which topic gets more attention and that is not a very good one for me.

like you rightly put, quality is a relative term and just like they say about one man's meat being another's poison, i don't think a post has to be long for it to have quality for one person or the other, the trick here is to find out what interest readers on steemit like the most and try to write quality content around it, be it long or short.

That is what I am against. I just want people to create contents in line with what they like and what they feel comfortable doing. It should not be about what brings the highest rewards. Some posts are curated only based on the topic and some frustrated minnows see it as a means to get recognized so they force themselves writing on what they know nothing about about.

Exactly! Now you have finally been able to touch the point I've been thinking about the whole time. I'm definitely clicking the follow button right now. I think I have myself a need friend. Nice to meet you, #smile

hy friend how are you?

You forget me?

Wow.. nice post dear, I did learn from your post. Thank you

@ogoowinner I loved how you kept underlining how essential it is to accept everybody for what they truly are and just let them be! You earned a follower!

Thank you for this. We are all weird in different ways and we have to learn to accept others for who they are, not who we want them to be.

@ogoowinner I totally agree! I'm glad you're speaking my thoughts, I will now Resteem your post to encourage you to keep writing! Steem on!

Good. Thanks for the tips. The facts will always speak for themselves. A good post lies conspicuously.

Thanks for contribution.

Thank you so much for this helpful tips and I really do think that if quality posts are encouraged, it will encourage up coming steemians to write more quality posts.

Thanks for reading

This is an interesting one here. Well, quality denotes the worth of something. So,if you value steemit, you have to give it your quality time, quality write up ,and quality mind because it worth it. Great steemians

And how do you judge its worth? What you value could be worthless to me. I prefer to judge it more on originality.

@ogoowinner you've said it right what interest you might not interest me in a post. Although, I am new here on steemit but I feel the should a criteria for quality post by steemit itself. As for me @popson an Interesting or quality post depends on the mood and personalty of the reader.

You are right. Thank you for reading.

You just nailed it. Quality can be from any aspect. If someone says he need a long post and if that will make it quality to him , then no p. If he needs short post, then do same. Thanks @ogoowinner for this awesome message

Thank you for reading.
