At the end of the day, whereas we may choose to toe our own standards, say like that Nigeraian dude, and dress/act any way we like, just so to create our own brand, it must be remembered that you are not an island.

You do not exist on your own, but among people who hold certain expectations, and whose opinion, whereas it does not have to limit your creativity, certainly does matter.

Else, these such responses,

whenever he boarded a commercial vehicle, the passengers would all come down just because they thought he was mentally unfit. Whenever he stopped a commercial motorcycle, they would dodge him because they mistook him for something else.

As such, some standards are expected. They may not always be right, but neither are they always wrong.

Overall, being uinque, setting oyur own trend, is a good thing. And is to be encouraged. However, this must fall within the overal expecttaions of any given society, else you become a pariah.
