Marketing is now quickly becoming on one of the most important aspects of any new technology company.

A recent Gartner survey said that by next year, a technology companies chief marketing technologist (CMT) will spend more time with the technology than the chief information officer (CIO).

With the rise of Steemit, I believe a CMT would help the blockchain no end.

The requirement for a CMT seems more credible every day as the Steemit platform evolves and changes.

The CMT has a role with aligning marketing technology with the greater business goals, and also serving as a liason to the IT and devs.

Another role is the evaluating and the choosing of supporting technology providers. A CMT will also work with a CEO (@ned in our case) to help draft new business models for Steemit's future.

In the crypto world, a CMT would understand that software is the main means of communicating and engaging with people.

The choice of Steemit software and how it's configured and operated and how the devs creatively fulfil this role is also important for the CMT.

The bottom $ is this: The CMT affects the way how Steemit is perceived by the greater public, not just inside the crypto-world, but outside of it too.

This is a role that truly measures how the audience sees Steemit in the wider scope of things.

That is why I believe @ned should appoint some kind of CMT if paid revenue ads enter the Steemit ecosystem.

In the meantime, all of us are amabassadors of Steemit, so please never forget that.
