Day 2 of my Facebook Twitter Steemit experiment
Day 2? WTF...?
What? You didn’t think I’d let it go at one day, did you?
To recap, I’m trying to see which would serve authors better – Facebook AND Twitter or Steemit as a steady (if volatile and unpredictable) income stream.
So far, Facebook/Twitter is winning as there have been downloads of the FREE book.
That’s not to say the downloads have not ALL come from FB/Twitter, indeed, some may have been curious Steemians, but no matter, here’s Day 2
The experiment:
I have 18,484 followers on two social media sites with a combined membership of a little over 2 billion monthly users.
On Steemit, I now have 259 followers! Steemit has just hit the 100,000 followers mark, so amongst the comparatively sparse crowd, I have quite a following there – 1 in 400 Steemians follow me! If you take a look at yesterday’s figures, you’ll see I have gained five followers on Steemit – not bad going!
On Twitter and Facebook, I am still tiny. Every new follower on Steemit counts for ‘more’ because there are fewer possible followers (by a MASSIVE margin).
Given that the potential to get seen by a far greater number is on my Facebook and Twitter accounts, rather than my Steemit account, I wanted to see how that translated into something useful – money.
I will also post this on Steemit.com, Twitter and Facebook to find out which (potentially) makes most sense (and money of course).
Now, it’s hardly fair, pitting Twitter and Facebook against Steemit.com because the two mega-giants don’t have potential to give me any payment (PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF THAT FACT) so I devised a plan to level out that playing field.
For every download of my books, I have to ‘make’ $2.50 in STEEM – yesterday was a win for Facebook/Twitter. Let’s see what today brings…

And...
GO!
STEEMIT FOR THE WIN!!!!!
(does the bum-shake dance)
LOL I know... but Dusty is quite a draw... she's getting more downloads than I thought... dammit!
I've done some finking Mrs Gent. (don't be amazed it does happen) My short story The missing sacrifice has been out since 2012 for $1 for the e-book and promoted through FB and Twitter. Don't think it's made $50 on all Amazon sites. On seemit in a week it's generated over $200 steem and still 23 hours on the final instalment.
May be something to add into your calculations.
Oh yes, the dice are certainly loaded with SteemPower...
noo cmon steemit!
I'm supposed to be unbiased in this, but I'm leaning towards the 'Come on Steemit!' too :D
