I think this post would be enhanced by defining what a "deposit" and a "withdrawal" is.

Hello faddat a deposit is steem being moved from an external exchange say Bittrex or poloniex into Steemit . A withdraw is steem being sent from Steemit to an external exchange most likely to be sold .

Well done, and good report.

Thanks for the info!

But where the differrence goes? There's no sense to accumulate Steem in external wallets

That's a very good question why would anyone want a lot of steem at an exchange .

likely being sold into bitcoin or some other crypto

OK, but crypto seller gets Steem, and where it goes? Steem is not investment instrument because of high diluting. It is logical for the buyer to return it for power up, but it does not happen.

STEEM is what gets bought and sold on the exchanges, that makes it the investment instrument. it seems rather unreal now because there isn't an 'economy' around it like bitcoin. There is little I can purchase using STEEM, although Peerhub accepts it, so that is a start.
