How high you want to fly? My experiences about the use of boosters....

Last week was filled with some interesting crypto news and I’m sure this week will be exciting as well.
Today I would like to talk about some topic which has been discussed quite a lot recently.
The use of boosters, to buy upvotes for your own article or for somebody else’s
The last 1-2 weeks I have looked around and tried a few services here and there as well. I gained different experience which I would like to share with you here.

This service offers upvotes every 2.4 hours for everybody who has send some Steemdollar to it’s account. It is like an auction und the value of the upvote depends on how many people will send how many Steemdollar within this timeframe.
I spend 1 Steemdollar myself and I received an upvote what was only insignificantly higher. So minus the amount for curation it wasn’t really a good deal.
This account is like a resteem service which you can also pimp with some upvotes. They promise up to 95 upvotes but they do mention the can not ensure the reward you will get.
I sent them 1.50 Steemdollar, got a resteem and about 100 upvotes right away. Because the upvotes where mostly send from some bot accounts, the payback was very low. I’m also assuming that not many people have seen the resteem, even though Bago has about 7.000 followers.
This seems to be the most popular booster and also has the best reputation. I used the service several times and notices that spending some own Steemdollars has mostly paid back.
You should always keep an eye on their upvote power, because it influences the financial return a lot. Just check out https://steemd.com/@minnowbooster.
It seems they have changed their own rules lately so that their upvotes are not that high as they used to be. I think their upvote power should be at least over 80 if not 90 percent, where earlier 70 percent were already sufficient to get an upvote higher than the amount of Steemdollars spent.
What am I keeping from all of this?
It all depends what you are up to.
If you are looking for some financial pay back you need to invest a little more than the usual 1-5 Steemdollars to actually make sense. Always consider the time it takes to check out the voting power and transferring the fee. Just for a few cent or 1 or 2 Dollar reward you could use your own time much more efficiently.
If you want to do this for more exposure and to get more attention you really need to spend some Steem bucks. To make it into the the trending or hot list I would say at least 20-50, if not 100 Steemdollar are necessary.
Some people might argue this whole vote selling and buying might be morally or ethnically wrong, but I’m the one judging this. I’m sure it leaves space for a lot of interesting discussions, but first of all everybody should have the chance to try all the opportunities this great platform offers.
I guess I will still use @minnowbooster for the time being, you could see it as some money spend for advertising my articles plus the hope of some financial reward.
However personally I prefer to get some real upvotes from real users who have read my post and actually like it, together with some genuine comments.

Absolutely, I myself get disappointed when I see these shitty comments on my posts. I, from now on ask this question from every spammer, never got the answer yet!

I normally don't flag them, don't want to hurt anybody. Though my down voting will not have any greater effect on their reputation but still, I'm of the view that we should ask them to be sensible before any sensible whale starts flagging them.
Oh yeah..that's for sure. I had a couple of sharks noticing these human bots on my comments and their downvote really kills you man..haha..
My thoughts exactly. Steemit is the single greatest massive online community on Earth. It's my favorite social media. The reason I'm sticking is the insanely high quality of everything. Then comes these random jerks who spam and beg all over the place just for some cents and pat on the back. I've seen they grow like a Mafia and comment and upvote each other. I can't do much as a minnow. But at least I try to warn everyone about this threat.
I use to just ignore then. sometimes they are just didn't understand yet what steemit is all about. but surely they will start to understand or end up killing their own acc
That is absolutely right.
This guy is a serial spammer ruining steemit with poor quality content and comment spamming. I've come across many such individuals with common traits. This guy actually have higher reputation than rest of them. Just check his comments.

Thank you for taking your time and I hope you'd think long and hard about this. These people are ruining steemit for all of us. I'm extremely concerned about the future of steemit because of these spammers.
I've been seeing these activities more and more recently. This guy actually has a lot more reputation than the rest. So he's a much bigger danger to the quality of steemit.

What kind of mistake? Did you write a comment without reading the post or was it a typo or something else?
Thanks for the info. i only knew about @minnowbooster till now. But it has really begun to suck these days. Returns my money despite me sending the SBD according to what is mentioned in their website. Happened a couple of times today as well. Not using it till it gets back to normal.
Also, there is another boosting option from @steemlike which is pretty slow in boosting, but has payed me up to 50%. Still worth than sending to minnowbooster and not being sure if your money will be returned and you'll have to go through the same process again.
Don't know @steemlike yet, it doesn't seem to trustworthy though. Maybe better to wait a few days until the war is over
I've tried it a few times. Works fine. Just too much time for the upvote to come in but thats ok with me.
Yeah @bellyrub has lost a lot of SP. I haven't had a chance to use @minnowbooster yet, but have heard @berniesanders has waged war on them downvoting all the posts.

I have read on minnowbooster channel and anyone who would be buying upvotes from them will be flagged by randowhale. Do confirm it and keep an eye on that.

Dude, due to some reasons, I can’t login my discord account. They are asking me to enter my mobile number and then they send a code that I never received and they blocked it. You can open any minnow booster post, they have the link of their discord channel. Click on it and then go to minnow booster announcement or ask someone in minnow booster help. And yes, I read myself yesterday and had a conversation about it with some tech name username. Update me as well.

That's something really sad to hear, I use to like randowhale's project but if this is true it would be the first big disappointment i have here on steemit.
eu também ja usei quase todos que você mencionou e mais alguns outros como @boomerang e @skeaky-ninja minha experiencia com todos eles é que para conseguir algum retorno temos realmente que entender bem o funcionamento de cada um. No atual momento comcordo com você, apesar de a lucratividade ter diminuido drasticamente nos ultimos 2 dias do minnowbooster (estava entre 200 e 250%) e hoje ta em algo entre 100 e 150%. mesmo assim na minha opinião continua servindo muito bem ao que se propõe que é agregar algum valor ao post votado dando a ele um pouco de visibilidade adicional.

Yeah minnowbooster seems to be the best in the game. lets how it goes as time passes and I expect we will get some more useful services like these,
They really do help out to get started out here very quickly.
Let me know if anyone have any idea about some specific bot design that will help everyone, maybe I can think of creating a bot based on existing ideas of the community.
