Stretching is an extremely important action for flexibility, range of motion and most of all injury prevention.

By increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles and slowing nutrients to get to your cartilage and muscle it helps greatly with recovery.

-energy levels will improve and by stretching when feeling tired it gives you an extra boost. As you get tired muscles tighten creating lethargy, this puts a stop to that.

-blood circulation and recover time improve. Soreness in the muscles can be muted as well. The more blood flow there is the greater cell growth will occur and along with improving organ function.
Allowing nutrients to get to all parts of the muscles and joints.
This all contributes to better performance.
