Reintroduction at 7 Months Update - Epic Fail or Finding Fun?
I am Chris, and I run a community called http://MakerHacks.com that is all about "making", which for most includes 3d printing, arduino, raspberry pi, robots, laser engraving, CNC and all that good, nerdy stuff :)
Time flies!
I just noticed I passed the 7 month milestone of being on Steemit. My join date was 30th August, 2017.
Biggest events of those months (other than @themarkymark getting me started) are:
- Discovering the Steem Makers community
- Being awarded 6,500 steem in a competition (for one week)
Of the two, the second was (and is) the biggest surprise and thrill, the former will likely have the most lasting impact :)
Content
For a while I would post about blogging as that is my comfort zone (I have been blogging and teaching about new media going back to the mid-1990s) but those articles never seemed to get much traction.
My curation roundup posts were ok but now I have joined Steem Makers that is likely where that effort should go.
Maker posts are obviously what I have done the most, but getting visibility without using bots has proven very difficult.
I even shared my cartoons, though again they didn't exactly light up trending ;)
Metrics
What you measure you get more of, so what measurements am I using today?
- 786 followers so roughly 100 per month. Not great but not terrible.
- 1,432.414 STEEM (non-delegated) or roughly $4,000 account value, so around 200 Steem per month, but that also includes Steem/SBD I purchased at a greater value than my account is worth.
So, I feel like I am behind where I should be after posting daily (or more). Having fun, learned a lot from working with the API, but could be doing better ...

I THINK YOU DONE GREAT! 7 months and the average is high. I set a goal to See what Will happen in one year, 12 months ( I started 1-1-18) so look at what Will happen in the next 5 months. Oh and I am a blond not really tech mum😬 maybe sometimes a blog about you😊 life is so Nice to blog about! But you asked My advise, you can also think .... woman go away!

I'm shy so I avoid writing about myself but maybe it will help me connect more with people :)
Maybe you can alternate the different tags. Use steepshot for something funny you See in your life. And do you have the Steemify app already its Made by some friends off mine its Free and it gives a good look at Whats happening in your account.
I need to look up steepshot, that is a new one to me. Looks interesting thank you :)
I'll also check out Steemify, I heard that mentioned recently and meant to look into it :)
Steepshot is quick like instagram and Steemify is to look at your account ... let me know what you thought about it I Will give the message trought to the devellopers @s3rg3 @exyle and @eqko

Seems Steemify is like the Ginabot service in your pocket :D

Maybe you're unfamiliar with the introduceyourself tag and the type of content that is intended for it? This doesn't tell anything about you or anything like that. I suggest perusing the tag to get a feel for what is intended there.
