RE: I couldn't sleep and I suddenly realized SteemIt is perfect...

I believe many different people will have many different ideas of what Steemit is, and of what it will become. But that's one of the great things about this platform.

Those who want a logically ordered forum of in-depth, quality-content posts will work towards making that type of platform. Those who would prefer a site full of memes and quick news bites will work towards that end.

Most likely, both of those types will succeed to varying degrees, as will various other types. And all of them will co-exist side by side. That will ultimately make for a vibrant platform replete with all kinds of information.

Granted, that might include some (or many) posts of questionable significance or doubtful quality, but hopefully that kind of post will remain peripheral.

Full Steem Ahead.

Yes, I got frustrated with all the "shit posts" for a while also. Then I got over that and focused on some new imagined problem. That is part of how we attract different types of users, by being different types of users. :)

One of our tools is flags, so we can also use that tool to help move content where we think it deserves to be.

I see your point, and I approve of the designation "shit posts." But on this free and open platform, it's probably impossible to avoid them.

However, Steemit is a meritocratic platform, so most of those who post insignificant crap will most likely fall by the wayside. Hopefully.

I doubt that we can flag all those shit posts. I sure would not want to spend time doing that, and they may not even really be flag worthy.

Whatever, it seems that Steemit has enough people producing quality content, and they are the ones who will merit upvotes and Steem Power. Let's all work towards that end.

Sounds like a plan to me. The more users we have and the better our tools get, the easier it will be for end-users to create a custom feel to what we see. (I hope)

Right. And while now many of the quality posts get lost or abandoned in the vast STrEEM, we might be able to turn the tables, such that the shitposts get lost in a grand STREEM of quality posts.

Then, those Steemians who produce quality material will have good reason to remain on this platform, while those who don't will (hopefully) realize that there's not much point for them to hang around and earn only cents / week. Then they'll go back to F_c_Book.

Thereafter, Steemit will dazzle with pure brillance, or at least a very good semblance thereof. Onwards!
