I'm SO excited to share a recap of one of the BEST meetups we've had in Austin, and not just because @ned, @sneak, & @pkattera showed up at the end like a scene out of Punk’d 😲 (although that was the icing on the cake!)

It’s so funny to think back to our first meetup - we had no clue what we were doing. We just wanted to kick back, hangout & have a few drinks with other Steemians. We had no idea that these little meetups would transform into what it is today- a community of the coolest, raddest people I’ve ever met.

I still can’t believe @steemcafe & his partner in crime @ogc flew to our meetup all the way from Las Vegas, but boy are we so glad ya'll did! Both of your energy is so fun & loving- thank you for sharing all about the Steem Creators Conference with our community! @richardcrill and I are SO excited to be a part of the upcoming Steem Creators Conference - I'll make a separate post all about it! After getting to hang out with @steemcafe & @ogc after the meetup, I have no doubt that the Steem Creators conference will be nothing short of amazing! Last but not least, massive thanks to our very own Steemit CEO @ned, Head of Design @pkattera, and Lead Technical program manager @sneak. You guys rock - we’re so grateful that you all made the time to come to our little meetup & help answer some questions. It’s clear that you’re all so committed at Steemit to see communities grow & succeed.

It’s bittersweet that next month will be @richardcrill’s and I last month to host the meetups before we take off in @thedodgemahal. However, I’m confident that the meetups will just continue to grow from here! Don’t worry, I’ll save my tears for the last meetup ;)

P.S.

If you’re reading this & thinking “I wish I had a meetup group” then go for it! Chances are there’s a big city near you that either hosts one already, or you can start one yourself. @richardcrill and I (and some of our other members) don’t even live in Austin city proper - that just shows that people are willing to drive to meet other like minded people that are passionate about Steemit.

I know my experience on Steemit is even more enriched now by the in-person connections made with other Steemians from all around the world. Even if you only find one other person in your community, start there! This is just the beginning ya’ll!
