Scammers are like Hydra?

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Twelve days ago @themarkymark wrote a post Steemit creates accounts for scammers... and nobody else?. He mentioned there unusual situation that hundreds of new steemit accounts were (or still are) created for scammers.

Process how the scammers works was investigated and describe by @marekkaminski in his post The scheme of spammers operation. Carousel of voters. Rape steem pool. Plagiarism, spamming. My silent investigation.

Has anything changed since then?

The accounts listed in these posts look dormant, for example @zhiyin1 has not created any new post, while he was very active before creating some 'bullshit'. Last 12 days he did nothing. is it the result of @themarkmark post? Maybe.

Previously all SBD earned by him and many other scam accounts had been transferred promptly to @linyanfeng and this process has also stopped 12 days before. Also @linyanfeng stopped posting on that time. Is the lack of creative inspiration? Maybe.

And @linyanfeng stopped receive SBD and withdraw STEEM too.

Is it a coincidence?

Maybe it is a coincidence, but I don't think so. They just changed their strategy, there is so many fake accounts created in middle of March, which allow them balance the usage. As @marekkaminski wrote they changed tactic not only create the posts and upvote it for each other but also from time to time upvote post ordinary users. If they crate post and it is flagged by @spaminator, so they earn nothing, but if they upvote ordinary user they could receive curation rewards, so that is, they will earn something.

Please see this samples of couple accounts:

Which is common for these fake accounts, please see the numbers of upvotes, in every cases is 107 upvotes, and what is more important after couple days of silence they start to post again 2 days ago, what a coincidence that everyone at once started to create. Examples of such accounts are much more, what is common for them, there are somehow related to @linyanfeng.

It looks like this is Hydra, many-headed serpent from Greek mythology, after the Steemit community is cutting one head, several others grow back.

There is any hope for success to cut them all?
