RE: 5 reasons NOT to downvote a post 🤔

in #steemit5 years ago

I would agree with these reason. I think downvotes should be used sparingly. If you get a downvote it's also not a bad idea to contact the person who downvoted you and ask them the reason. There could be a good reason or it may have been a mistake. The buttons are right beside each other after all.

Well, in the old version you had to confirm before a flag/downvote was written onto the chain. Now it's more Facebook-like ... after most of us have learnt to deal with the interface for 1, 2, 3 years. No improvement to me.

There used to be flag wars between couple of groups, mostly whales or those who have bigger stake here on Steemit. (i.e. @berniesanders vs. @haejin, @sweetsssj). So Bernie´s followers include themselves in the fight to pull down Haejin... but Haejin´s reputation is much higher than theirs so they begun flagging each other... And for what reason? They said that Haejin was posting 10 times/day and abusing the reward pool.. they maybe right, but every crypto chart of Haejin have been vital to investors which are mostly his followers. In the end, the flagging wars just caused so many irritations on the part of the planktons and minnows and even the whales.

So in my case, there is no point in contacting an asshole like this user camillesteemer who had been flagging my content for no reason at all! He is a spammer and he has been flagging a lot of my friends and other steemians just because... have a look at his account... he doesn´t have a single post and just resteeming accounts that have bigger rewards so he gets his curation reward...and who are his 6k+ followers? I am just wondering what kind of mindset his followers have???
