HOW DO I STEEM IT?........THE PARTICIPATING GUIDE

This Article is solely based on my views and understanding of the knowledge of participation in the steemit community.

                                                   

LET'S GET STARTED

                                                           

When I first get signup with STEEMIT.COM and approved, I was so excited like everyone else and wowed by the concept. My initial thought was just on getting the money until I sarted reading articles and comments from others, I realized that I might benefit more in trying to build a lasting relationship and trust with followers. Infact, if you don't want to get frustrated and back out easily, think more of what you give than get. I have read some re-introduction post, yes I said re-introduction post because they were once active on the steemit and then back off for a while and back again to give it a second try, maybe at the beginning the money was the major factor and when not forthcoming as expected, then back off.

I tell you guys, those on the upvote for upvote, follow for follow, resteem for resteem will definitely not last, especially when expectations can't be met because it's all about the money and popularity. So, I support the campaign of upvoting articles and posts of interest, benefits and knowledge, follow those of same passion and insight and resteem those articles you know will serve you and your followers.

I know the steemit community comprises of people from different continent, races and culture; making it a universalconcept. The views may be different and possibly dis-interesting to another but the common thing is that these are real people with interest in social networking, blogging, cryptocurrency and high aspirations to the top of the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

THE NICHE

Your niche is all about your passion and interest. The question begging for answer is, how can I properly serve my followers and non-followers in steemit. Behold the ironic answer is nothing! other than passion and interest. Write stories and articles you are passionate about. Show in videos and pictures your areas of interest, that's it! Nothing more or less.

I am trying out a concept I like, it is tagged ASK-KRIS. It's all about sharing experiences with others, unburdening   the frustration and challenges. Though the response have been slow but it's on.. You can check out some of the posts here;

Oh! Lest I forget,let's talk about some simple facts in steemit.

• UPVOTING: Upvoting is a way of you liking a post. If you see a post you like and are impressed by it, then upvote, don't hesitate.
• COMMENTS: learn to make comments on people's on people's posts, either by commending the posts, making contributory statements, highlighting areas for future improvements or welcoming a newbie. Let's stop being a dormant follower,it is a participatory community. It is by doing so, we can eliminate the slogan: follow for follow, upvote for upvote, resteem for resteem. It will be all about the community and not yourself in particular.
• RESTEEM: Resteeming a post is simply sharing the posts with followers and others. If you already discover your niche: your area of interest and passion, and you see that in someone else's post, resteem it; share; there's nothing wrong about that. You don't need to be coarsed in resteeming someone else's post that are not of interes to you and your followers simply because it's resteem for resteem. No, let's come off it. Share, because that information is of usefulness to you and your followers.

DOES IT COSTS ANYTHING TO POSTS COMMENTS, UPVOTE AND RESTEEM?

No, it is free to post comments, upvote and resteem on steemit.com. You might even get paid for it. If you discover a post and upvote it before it becomes popular, you can earn a curative reward; the reward amount will depend on the amount of steem power you have. (check: https://steemit.com/faq)

• TAGS: People write articles in different categories; it can be finance, business, relationship, fashion and style, cryptocurrencies et.c. Tags are simply a way to categorize your content, so that others can find it. The more relevant the tags are to the post, the more like-minded people will come across it. Use tags that are relevant to your post and that are popular for other people to browse. Be mindful when allowing tags: if your tags aren't related to your post, your post may get downvotes for mistagging. All tags must be lowercase letters and you can use up to 5 tags per post. • HOME PAGE: The home page contains your feed, which is the most recent posts of those you are following. If any of those you are following makes a post, you will see a number notification on top of your dashboard. It is necessary to check it out to see what others have posted. Also on the home page is the New, Hot, Trending and Promoted.

1. The New are posts sorted by time posted, with newest first.
2. The Hot are popular posts at the moment.
3. The Trending are posts with the most amount of votes recently.
4. The Promoted are listings that are boosted by steem dollar payments for greater visibility.

TO MY NON-STEEMIT FRIENDS

If you are reading this right now maybe on the social network like facebook and twitter and you are not a steemite, you are missing out of the social revolution. Guys, we have been together for years on facebook, twitter, whatsap et.c., so I know what I am talking about. You really need to start steeming it.

 TO START PARTICIPATING

Click on the "Sign Up" link at the top of Steemit.com to get started.You will be asked to verify your email address and phone number. After your email address and phone number have been verified, you will be added to the waiting list. You will be notified via email once your account is approved.

After you receive notification that your account is approved, click on the link in the email to finish the account creation process. And when the process is completed, acknowledge @krisosa on your introductory post so that I can personally welcome you to steemit. I will be glad to have you here.
