RE: Is Steemit Cooked? due to the The 'Flag' option? - Steemit a failure? But it's OK because Steemit uses 'Websockets.'
i agree with your analysis here :
https://steemit.com/steemit/@kingofchaos/why-would-anybody-buy-this-shitcoin
that there would be a large divergence between what is voted on and what people are 'looking for' but i just put all that down to manipulation, and that could be corrected with simple design fixes.
What can't really be corrected is if the 'flag' option can really 'delete' or render 'unseen' content.
the only possible design fix would be to include a 'flagged' tab at the top which shows all 'flagged' posts and allows for sorting it.
Thanks, the flagging feature is obsolete. The voting system a mess. Reputation should start at zero. The blockchain should have a field for classification of content. The frontend needs user adjustable filters. Views should be weighted in. Problems solved.
But, as I said, I don't think they actually want to fix it. The way it is now they could just keeps the eggs together much better and avoid any serious distribution and dilution. The 104 week rule is just another level to keep the initial liquidity in as few hands as possible.
Hmm don't rule out the divergence of 'coders' to designers.
Something that seems obvious to a designer is not so to many else that's why a dedicated feedback tab would be useful for Beta.
