If I understand all the stuff I heard properly, doing it as a private person doesn't impact anything--whether you use as steemit link or something else. The issue arises when you share a link as a page. For a long time, people with pages have been finding FB has a weird algorithm that determines how much your followers see the post... mostly intended to encourage us to "Boost" posts by paying for advertising. It sounds like if you have a link to Steemit, this increases the likelihood of your post not appearing or being buried in your followers' feeds.
